Well this is conflicting -- support says there will be s2, devs on board say no s2.
I'll be out of town for the next 2 days, so I don't mind if its delayed a bit...

I can play if you still want more players and don't care if they were in the other season 2 alliance. 410 points and will probably be playing Academy unless you want me to play something different.

I'm not sure I see a conflict between the answers from support and the ones in the forum (although I didn't read the entire thread). My interpretation of the exchange in the forum is a misinterpretation of the question about user from season 1 going to season 3. I think the dev that answered just meant that you could pass straight from s1 to s3, but not that there will no longer be any new s2 servers.
Also seeing as this will be a test server for s3, I doubt they will stop releasing s2 servers while the s3 one is tested, and I'm guessing support would've been notified if there were no longer any s2 servers coming out.
I just hope a new one will open soon. If they are really just waiting for a set amount of people it my take a while. Especially since the longer the server has been running the less likely it is for new people to join.

Well after reading the forum post a little further I did see the explicit answer from sawinaya saying that there will be no further s2 servers. I just challenged support with that reply from the devs, so they can tell me who is mistaken.

I again confirm my participate. I currently have 113 legacy points but I am waiting for moderators to change it to 490 I got on my third server. My faction will be Academy.

One of the biggest things I saw was that regions who were currently on season 1 wouldn't get any season 2 servers. It could be possible that there has been a miscommunication since I don't see there being no new servers other than the two test servers until September, that would be bad business practice.
