strategy ideas homm3

now this mey turn out to be one of those long threads when it said and done but i hope this helps noobs and pros alike.

this is my strategy thread for homm3 only post your tips and walkthroughts here for any map in homm3

Dragon pass.
ive been playing dragon pass alot and came up with 2 good strategys.

1. is the basic build up army and money at same time then by week 3 or 4 go to the dragons and come out with minimal loses this work good for any town but most importantly the conflux.

2. is the rush creature build plan. Towns i recommend are necrop,conflux,and dungeun. you need at least 3 heroes right at the start! chosse a starting hero with meter shower or mass skeles or trogs. .first day buy town hall as you will need alittle source of gold. send heroes in diffrent directions if red and your the duengeon or necro go for gem pond first! youll need it later then get sulfer and mercury when u see gold get it and when you see chest take gold no matter what! then after you buy town hall by all creature dwellings til you cant get no more by week two day 7 i manged to beat the dragons gaurding my keymaster tent. buy mana vortex and battle scoaler too it helps go to every thing that gets you knowlege or power for more metershowers and more hutful at that.

Here is a Homm3 tactic.. Auto save, and try not to make mistakes at all.

When you learn a skill you dont want in witch huts (ect) load the turn.

The more power you have, the less power you should lose.

Yes what a fantastic tactic. keep reloading until u win that fight, or get the perfect skillset.

your playing a strategy game. If this was a good strat why not just type in cheat codes or get a trainer to edit the game.

Heros much as life in my view is making the best of what you have or are dealt. You may enjoy that one town but isnt the challenge more if you play random and learn more aspects of the game. Why would u send a main hero to the witch hut without hitting it first to find out what it gives? you may learn a new tactic in the game if you do have to choose between 2 skills you normaly dont like and then find it is useful.

So you rebooted til you played your "perfect" game. the only thing you have really done is cheated yourself out of a true challenge.

Thts cool..But If I die cuz of a mistake and I'm playing AI, surely I will not let my past go to waste. I will reload unless im tired of playing. Dose this happen often? Not to my recolection..

And sometimes there are big mistakes..
In Homm4 it's quite easy to accidentaly move archers/spell casters cuz the arrow was not all the way on the target.. (esp with mylabtop) I doubt this changes everything drasticly but it definately changes something (usualy)

and loading cuz the witchmasster hut teaches something I didnt want to learn, well thats programers mistake.. If some one tried to teach me something I'd have the opportunity to decide.
I'm not always willing to scout out another hero just to ask the witchmster (Ect) what she teaches, when my main hero is right there.. You kno'

In order to have less mistakes.. Know the meaning of legion, horde and all that..

Know your goals compared to your means
Equestrians gloves are good, but lady bird of luck is semi ok.
If there are 100 grand elves before the artifact, resource, path, mine, ect.. Dont waste precious army.

The more force the less loss usualy..
Example, simple:
10 pikemen vs
10 stray Trogss..

You'll lose about 6 pikemen (?)

100 pikemen against
10 stray wogs

You'll lose zero

Establish dynsty
Usualy the castles are less protected than a decent  artifact, path, mine ect.... However castles provide The increase of creature growth while you gather daily gold up to 2000 without having to spend much (or extra town creature growth & extra dwellings)
In any case, the usual gold and level 1, 2 & perhaps spells are worth more than a gold mine guarded by black dragons.

Scouts
I'm sorry, but if the prime hero is wasting time getting small things, it is a waste of time. A 2500 hero can disperse troops, and gather mines & resource (even smaller things like oblisks in a huge map). These heroes will usualy end up with time to gather some experience..

There are more, and I dont know why no ones stating them..

Help I am trying to ponder the arts of Homm3 war ha-ha.

I can't believe how for real I was with the tactic "reload game " but I wish I was more obnoxious and less timid now.
It was just AI anyways. I was just reading over my exploit days in a game butbit was in beta mode where exploiters were rewarded. Except me. "The most hated player" by the ROTH equivalents.
What happened to me ((

Heh. I don't think there are many single player that will never reload under any circumstances. And if they go from single to multiplayer it may take a while to get used to the lack of second chances ^^
