The Meaning of Life

I would like to here people thoughts on the meaning of life.

All i know is that life isn't meant to be spent working.

proposed timeline:

Age 1-3 to young to remember what you did so it doesn't matter

Age 4-5 probably one of the best times of a person life because no school or work but still to young to do anything.

Age 6-17 in this period a day consist of waking up getting ready for school going to school getting home doing home work and going to sleep.

Age 18-55 well this period is were you have to work all the time and sometime you will get children which will ruin all chances of freedom and lower the chance of being able to party and have fun. although minor benefits will arise(having a child has its own benefits)

Age 55+ Yay finally no work but damn your too old to do anything.

Life manly consist of school, working and sleep.

Can I make reservations for a Superior Comfort Room for 3 nights?

Most common misquote ever -- 42 is NOT the meaning of life.  It is the answer to the ultimate question.  What the ultimate question is is not known.

Life is just full of surprises & emotional effects from an unsettled livlihood.
One month you can be happy & the next you are heart broken & then you get defensive & attack people you wouldnt want to.
Lifes just a bunch of our human intellegent secrets that it seems we dont even pay attention to other secrets others hold inside but only care for whats best for thierselves hurting others that dont even deserve it.
Then others that saw a spark & the sunshine in your eyes all vanish as much as the persons inner niceness beauty in one single moment because of one person or thang.
Our lives a cycle from many generation, your born, you have kids you live life then you die.
How you live your life between those times is up to you.
This life no matter what theres going to be pain & suffering & you got to expect it to happrn because it can happen even now as we speak & if your not ready for the unpredictability of life then it can effect you for the rest of your life.
Sometiems feels like all the good people in this world get punished & the bad people have it alot easiar kind of like the poorer you are the more taxes you pay.
Everyones raised diferent so everyone has dif life styles & dif ways of thinking, it dont mean your better then them, just means you live life diferently.
Love sucksit's a rare moment when you can be happy, because not easy having two people agree on loving each other when they have many secrets in thier minds that are kept a black secret meaning, they will never tell the secret & keep it to thier grave.
Yes I am sure many saw me change & say some mean stuff maybe or I dont know anymore.
I think I lost the sunshine & spark I used to have for so long but I hope in time it will heal.

Aculias, you make lots of these long posts at the end of a thread.  I think a +QP'd be good.  Anyway, as to the meaning of life, I think that (being a Christian) this whole thing is just a training ground of sorts before heaven.  Just my opinion...

Life not meant to be spent working?

Dear life laborer,

I work too. I Father two children and soon a third. My wife ,Jennifer, works. My kids don't work. My small children, who are ages five and three, play. I don't know their interests but I know mine. Sometimes work is tiresome and sometimes it's a burden on my responsibilities. It's alright though, because when I'm tired my mind wonders and I lose focus for specialized tasks and thought processes. In between my loss of focus and consciousness I dream. I dream of everything. Sometimes I have a bad dream and tears well in my eyes. Sometimes I have good dreams and my face cracks a lethargic smile. It's here that I have found my peace and entertainment. It's here that I let go of all the things people tell me not to do and say. There is my freedom and there is my stage of actors in which I am the director and playwrite. Dear mr. Life's Laborer please don't forget about the stage. Go there when you can and see a good show. Find your freedom and enjoy the performance.

Aculias is a compassionate writer. Sometimes I feel as though I'm an alcoholic of life. After reading Aculias's passage I get quite drunk with the truth. =)

Good Journey to all who drink from the prismatic ale we call life.

I seem to remember in one of the books the characters decided that the answer was somewhere in Arthur's brain... so they made him randomly pick Scrabble letters out of a bag... and the Question was "What do you get if you multiply six by nine?"

On topic now, I think that the meaning of life is happiness- not just for yourself (though obviously you should care about yourself the most, no one else is going to)but for other people too, especially those that you care about.  In this way your life never is "meaningless" because there are always things you can do for others.

I'm going against the grain here!

Either take this as wishful thinking or as a joke but imagine if Humans lived their lives in reverse...(lifespan of 85 years as an example)

*We would start off old and feeble with lots of friends & family around saying great things about us (i.e. funeral = birth)

*We would live for many years in a community home with nurses or with family members to tend to us because we are still too frail to wash ourselves or walk down stairs. Our minds would be fully developped though, so this would be a perfect opportunity to do our academic learning.

*As we grew older, we would get healthier: Our muscles would begin to tone-up, our joints would eventually stop hurting, our hair would grow back and our skin would tighten.

*We would work, unfortunately, throughout this whole process from about the age of 20 to the age of 65 (20 - 65 in our reality).

*After working & living for many years we would retire around 60 - 65 years old (20-25 in our reality) and have healthy, vibrant, energized bodies with which to enjoy our retirement.

*We would eventually get so old, around 75, that our minds would start to go. But, instead of going senile..like we do in our reality...we would simply stop caring about "adult issues". We would care more about playing in the sandbox and singing along to Nursery Rhymes.

*Eventually, we would end up being these cute little people known as BABIES and everyone would want to hug & kiss us. They would also take care of any needs we had for food, clothing, & cleaning.

*Finally, when the time came to "pass away"...our lives would end the same way that they begin in this reality...as an orgasm!!!

That's utopia, all the way!
____________
*The end to no beginning...

*Take care, Leo

(i mean, come on. imagine the religion - right testis = heaven, left testis = hell. not much choice there)
