Yep, it's been proven that the British make more mistakes in English than the French in French, Polish in Polish or Chinese in Chinese.

Who cares if there are foreigners here? Where else can they go? If I decide to learn Spanish and I post on a Spanish message board, would I want to see threads like this making fun of me and all the other non-Spanish speakers? Of course not! I wish they'd just pretend not to notice that they had a little bit of trouble understanding me. This is a very insulting thread to those who don't speak English natively.

As this thread shows, a lot of us can't even speak our own language well, and you want us to learn others?  Can't we just speak loud, slow English instead?

Anyway: Since HC is a international forum, we have to speak a language that (almost) everyone understands.
And if HC should become a place only for those who speaks English as mother tongue and always writes correctly, I think it would be a small, not very colorful nor lively forum (without any Americans hehe)

Ok, letīs try this:
Every week we change the language in which we write our posts.
First week in english, then in spanish, next in german, then russia and so on...
And then every native "speaker" can say how "funny" the posts of the non-natives were....
...could be very funny...

oh dear, im in trouble... my native language is french, but i think i speak english fairly well. but learning half a dozen more languages could be tough. (i know some ASL but that could be hard to speak on a forum  )
maybe they can add a new forum section for language class. where people write how to say things in their language of choice and the english counter-part.

Take a look at wookie: He can speak polish, english, italian AND german (BTW Apfelstrudel is ONE word in german, hehehe). I think he wouldnīt have much problems to write every week in another language

the schooling in europe is much beter then here in north america, we learn useless things, whereas they learn all the languages they will need to use.
thats why they have the edge on me. 
i wanted to take spanish in school, but the school wouldnt let me. (well not without dropping gym class and why would i do that?!)
