Only in America:
Is the president elected via electronic vote supplied by republican sympathetic corporations, and you get to pick between two candidates who basically have the same policy on the important issues, and who have both sworn loyalty to the Skull & Bones society first and foremost, even above the loyalty to the nation.
On a side note, if your son or daughter refuses to put on socks, a good strategy to make them put on socks anyway willingly is to give them the choice between pink socks and blue socks
Other places:
The most common feature of all religions is the zealous insistance that the offspring must embrace the same beliefs as the parents, and not be allowed to choose freely among a variety of world views.
Are we free?

only in America:
- do we use the word "politics" to describe the process so well: "Poli" in latin meaning "many" and "tics" meaning "blood-sucking creatures".
wrong, poli is not latin, its greek and its spelled "poly" (if you can say that about greeklish) "poli" comes from "polis" which means city, state... and guess what, "politics" is the english version of a greek word (one of the tens of thousands in your language) and is used in most languages, in one form or the other
- do we buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight [Really? In my country we buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of twelveI've always wondered what the point is,lol.]
to quote Kar: "So, I figured it out, why hot dogs come in packages of ten and hot dog buns come in packages of eight. See, the thing is, life doesn't always work out according to plan so be happy with what you've got, because you can always get a hot dog."
- Does our leader (president) step down from power after a maximum of a few terms in office (FDR) or a minimum of a single term of office (4 years).
think again, you are not alone in this
- a site like www.ShelleyTheRepublican.com makes people wonder if it is satire or truth
EDIT:
- a bill allows Martial Law and even with that and all the other bills in place, the regime is considered a democracy protecting the freedom of the country's citizens
- people consider it a violation of freedom the fact that, in other countries, not voting is against the law
