Shakti or Gretchin?
im always curious about these 2 lv1 specialist ... shakti starts mostly with more level1 then gretchin , hobgoblins have 8 speed with gretchin , one has tactics other pathfinder , both have offence... what you think of them?... shakti or gretchin better? without terrain bonuses 8 vs 6 speed and with shakti chance to have 200 trologydes(luck factor important) first week.. ima curious tell your opinions people why shakti is more popular? my vote goes to gretchin

I'm not the best expert on shaq attack, but my reasons are:
1.Main reason is number of creatures - one slot of trogs always is much bigger then one slot of goblins (in average - 35 trog v. 20 goblins). In total with max luck - three slots - u will have something like 100 trogs v. 60 goblins...
2.Strenth of units - difference is not major, but still trogs are a bit tougher then goblins (bigger skills and bigger damage).
3.Speed difference does matter, but not so much in my opinion - speed 6 is mostly nuff for week 1 battles (especially with tactics skill where u can protect main stack from early hits of faster units).
4.For real unit 1 attack u will need to upgrade them for sure. Upgrade of trogs costs only 5 wood, but upgrade of gobs - 5 wood + 5 ore also. If we add that stronghold in gerenar need more wood/ore that dungeon (especially for week 1 castle + beth)...
But, of course, Shaq is not the only one cool lvl1 special dude. E.g., i know, Kuma like to play with gnoll dude as well...

hmmm...
Shak has tactics as starting skill - give him a few easy fights and he have exp tactics. Which is of great value because he can rightly managed take out most tough shooter blocks the starting days. And off course basically every fight gets easier with tactics.
The starting number of lvl 1 creatures is all of big importance. While you are lucky to get about 80 gobs with gretchin you should get about 120 trogs with shak unless unlucky and just one starting stack. With some luck instead youll get closer to 200. So whats the difference of 80 gobs and 120 trogs you might think then...its just 40 lvl 1 creatures that differ... well a powerstack of about 120 trogs can kill most enemy stacks right away... 80 gobs cant. Meaning you have to sacrifise units to pick up ret. and you need to watch out for other enemy stacks. There is a big difference.
Another thing i need think needs to be mentioned here is that while dung has problems to go for drags fast you need another tactic. Shak attack makes good sense then since you even can clear small cons the first couple of days. While playing stronghold you got your beths day 2 or 3 and upg. those goblins instead of getting beths isnt such a popular thing to do.

I support Shakti. More Troggies are always better than less goblins
