Who thinks this is cheating?
Whenever I lose a battle I restore a saved position and do it over and over again until I win, but am so consumed with guilt afterwards I sometimes have to restart my game. What do you all think? Should we let fate take it's course or use save/restore to alter the outcome of world events?

I think everyone has done that a few times... I wouldn't feel guilty about it. As time goes by you'll usually be able to guage better if you can win or not, and play almost perfectly your first try... so additional attacks wont yeild terribly different results.
Nowadays I usually am going around with just 1 hero without an army later on, so I can do that without reloading. Just attack, do some damage, and retreat if I wont win.

This is something I've thought about countless of times.. To find out the answers to the "what if's" in the world.
It's hard to imagine something like that could be possible, comes kinda close with time travel. I myself like the concept that there are parrallel universes for each choise...which basically means parrallel universes are infinite. Maybe it's true and maybe not..it's a nice concept though. Right now I just like to stick with some kinda fate form in combination with choise.

Dont think its cheating..
only when ply'n online ;-)
But;
When yur having so much trouble winning another army, maybe its better to get some reinforcements and try agian when the odds r better?
Doenst look logical 2 me, to try over & over again when yur about the same strength..

in single player you can learn from mistakes in diferent types of games & battles, I dont mind reloading a game & finding a whole new strategy to beat the enemy  .

In single player how can you cheat against yourself? It's whatever you enjoy doing that matters.
I love getting in big battles I have no chance of winning....but win anyway. I've been known to reload the same fight 10-15 times until I win. It's the challenge of it that makes it fun.

If I have a lot of gold, and my unattended castle is at risk of attack, I buy a hero and put his troops into the castle then dismiss him (or her). Then repeat the procedure until all my gold is gone and the castle is full of troops ready to defend it.

I do it in SP. Unless I dont feel like it.
Sometimes I just start over or do a different senario. If it's not cheating to you it should be fine but in my eyes its no big deal.

Male or female. Niether one can be assumed to handle ordering checks right.

Of cause you should reload if you think you have a chance! Winning a batle is much better for your tactic skill, than waiting and hiring more troops!
