It would be good if a moderator (Ste...?) gathered all the information about the WoG campaigns and closed those numerous threads... maybe even making it sticky?
Sadly, it seems that years after the campaigns were released there is no good FAQ in English language.

i have the same problem
Ok i find it ! U have to click 1 square up to the fairies IMMEDIATLY after restore the forest. After it's too it's late... u get 20 elf and 100 fairies. it's help a lot

You don't have to fight the nightmares immediately! Try to help everyone first...

I did it, but I got no troop.
- I got the crystal mine
- Repaired the mill
- Visited the well (many times) for getting some gold
- Played my gold for 3 gems
- Gived my gems to repair the waterwheel
- Visited the temple of Gaļa, who told me to revisit him when I did my duty
- I also promised to the fairie to kill the wraiths and promised to the architect to save the town, but i have to kill the nigthmares first...
HOW I CAN GET SOME TROOPS ? plz help

You should have 20 elves and 100 sprites, right? In the beginning there are only 3 nightmares...HOW can there be a throng? You should replay the map and do all the things faster.
PS: I made a complete walk for the 1st map of the 1st campaign...with a picture that helps.

If you are fast the noghtmares are only a few but if you waste much time with the rogues the nightmares may become too much. Fortunately there i a place on the battle field where you can place the elves and the nightmares can't reach them. After that you have to pray that the ammo will be enough 
But it is better to restart the map and try not to waste time
