let a guilty person go free. The reason is that most criminals will not be all that dangerous in society and are quite likely not to repeat their crimes. If they will, they will be caught again and that time the mistake would not occur. If an innocent person goes to jail, you are already making a damage to that person's life (and a rather severe one).

Just my opinion.

Why would I want either? It's illogical.
If I knew someone was innocent then why would you lock him up? If someone was guilty I wouldn't let him go free.

You didn't get the ideea...
Everybody knows justice makes mistakes. Not all menbehind bars are criminals and not all men trialed and then released are innocent. The question is which is better for society.

I would rather a Guilty man go free.  It just doesn't seem right having an innocent person behind bars.

A better question is how are you going to determine who is guilty and who is not? I suppose to be sure you could lock up everyone or let everyone be.

well i reckon you should let a innocent person go behind bars. because if you let a guilty person out than he will probably commit another crime, and when he does he will know what to do to not get caught and an innocent person will go to jail for his crime anyway. so either way you do it, there will be about 75% that an innocent person's life will be ruined in the longrun.

It depends on the crime they are accused of.  Imprison the innocent person  if the crime is big (ie, murder, bank robbery, etc.).  Imprison the guilty one if the crime is small (ie, shoplifting, speeding, etc.).

No dilemma. Let honor be your guide.

Let the innocent man decide his fate and the fate of the guilty prisoner. An innocent man is innocent for a reason. Innocense is a type of character description. To say a man is innocent is to know he has good judgment. Therefore if an innocent man is a good judge then he must be allowed to decide his own fate while the guilty prisoner has been stripped of all his rights in disgrace of his guilty actions. Just such an example of an honorable prisoner is a man by the name of Nelson Mandela.

but the innocent will be like this:

if i go into jail:
"if i go into jail and not let him go than he will try and kill me from within the cell for keeping him locked up and it would be hell for me in jail."

if i let him go:
"if i let him out than he could compensate me with a little bribe, I MEAN... ...Present, yes a present for getting him out"

if i go into jail:
"but i might be able to save someones life on the outside"

if i let him go:
"screw everyone else they're gonna die anyway.
i'll just let him go free."

and the outcome is
if i let him go:
if i go into jail:

and the winner... ...Let the guilty man go.

cause remember there are thousands apon thousands of guilty men on the streets andone more cant hurt. plus people are people, everyone makes mistakes.

"the main thing people care about over anything is themselves" Franklin. D. Roosevelt

if you have read

"how to win friends and influence people" by Dale Carnegie
then i think you would agree that i reckon

there is 70% - 90% chance of the innocent person choosing to let the criminal go.

Tell that to Todd Beamer's wife and the rest of the family members of the passengers who fought the terrorists on board flt 91. Explain to them how the main thing people care about over anything is themselves.
