Khaelo, you never cease to amaze me with your articulate, to-the-point, impeccably defended posts. Somebody should create a poster-of-the-year award and then give it to you.
Quote: That said, I also have issues with imposing concepts of masculinity and femininity, whether traditional or new, onto real people. (connection to "Personality" thread in Tavern: ) My avatar is of ambiguous gender particularly because I don't want people slotting me into male or female stereotypes. Sometimes I go about things in a feminine way; sometimes I am more masculine. In the end, I am just a mutable, complex person like any other. That principle applies to people's behavior in relationships as well.
I just laughed when I read this, partly because I aree with your approach to life, but also partly because of my own divergent experiences and choices.
My avatar is the "boobs in armour" precisely because that's pretty much what I'm like in real life. I flaunt my femininity openly, I revel in it; and I pretty much implicitly dare anybody around me to treat me down because of it mostly because I think I (and every woman alive) stand for every other women in how they are percieved and represented, and therefore, how they are treated.
An example: I've been sexually attacked twice in my adult life, and both times I (who was completely uninjured except for a jammed pinky on one occasion) sent both guys away limping, bleeding and/or with a spike heel hole between his eyes.
Similarly, when I started practicing law, it took a very short time for the older "good-ole-boy" attorneys in my bar to stop calling me "honey" and patronizing me, because the word got out that everytime somebody did that, at trial I buried them even deeper than I would have if they didn't treat me that way.
My theory is that if women all over the world suddenly overnight started reacting to any kind of attack with the same rigor that men do then the attacks would no-so-mysteriously vanish into thin air within a very short time.
There pretty much just isn't anybody who knows me who would cross me or take me on, because they know that despite my excessive feminity they would be taking some part of their existence into their hands in doing so. This is mostly because while being excessively female, I go about sticking up for myself in a decidly "masculine" way, whether it be personally, professionally, or physically. Hence, my avatar (and my signature as well. See below.) LOL!!!!
Sorry for the digression here folks.
Quote: Third: Historically, the "authorities" have not reacted or even acknowledged female homosexuality. The Greeks and Romans weren't concerned with it because it did not endanger the legitimacy of children. They were very concerned with active/passive, though. Passivity was considered a feminine trait, and one who had submitted to penetration was ineligable for citizenship, since citizens were male.
TOUCHE'!!!! (pun intended).

why go undercover, are you feeling insecure when itv comes to gays, or are you just shy ? lol the best way to understand the gay population is to talk with them openly. I am a strong hetrosexual male, but I will openly discuss this topic with anyone, because i'm secure with myself.

I think Seinfeld explained it best:
You know that you are a sucker for salesmen.. you buy things you dont want, from ppl you dont like.
Maybe you think that if one of them starts talking to you, you will unwillngly agree to become gay?

I don't know what you mean by that. Seinfeld was a show that never really caught on here. Friends/Sex in the City are much better.
So what do you mean by that?
PS. Concis, hows the newest lttle earthling doing?

Using Comedy As A Reference
First of all I consider this thread to be of a serious nature. I think the subject material is the stuff of a modern day civil rights movement going on throughout the world and focused in the U.S. I think it's focused here because of the overwhelming media support an issue of this nature can receive simply by being in this country.
Using comedy as a reference is more than likely an attempt from the user of such content to do one of three things.
1. Lighten the mood of the debate. Tell people to calm down and gather their wits so that they don't lose sight of a very simple rule. Don't lose sight of common sense and remember that sometimes we do don't always see the big picture.
2. Debate dismissal. User is rejecting some portion of the debate or all of it in its entirety. The user is saying, "This material is superfluous to me and holds no meaning so here is a shallow way of saying it."
3. Insult. User is trying to attack another verbally.
About Seinfeld, don't be offended by the comment. I think it's a show that represents a light approach on many of life's curve balls. I think it was meant well.
Asmodean,
Thanks for your concern of my newborn daughter. She was born healthy on February 29th(Leap year). She was 9.6 lbs. My wife did a great job and I'm proud of her for the strength portrayed through the entire ordeal. We named her, Alisha(Uh-leesh-uh).

I meant ,like Consis said, that it takes a light approach to most things. So don`t be offended by any Seinfeld made jokes ,there`s a good chance they represent a six year old`s view on the things.

That same division of "normal" and " less normal" people made Hitler kill 10 milion human beings!
And you should enjoy your "normality" and the feeling you are just like others, while there are still people like you who recognize "normal" and "not normal" men. I do hope not for too long.

Normal is that wich happens frequently and in a pattern wich can be tracked or followed to some degree. so saying that maybe homosexuality is now become so commonplace that it is now normal
My next thought is on acceptance of the gay person, I do not accept a person because they are gay( that is against my personal beliefs) However, I do accept them as a fellow human being and that deserves kindness in itself. accept them on an individual basis, based on who they are, and how they treat others and view the world. If they are A good hearted person and are respectful, decent, and kind. It does not matter weather they are gay, straight, or trisexual for that matter. LOL!!!!

Hypocricy Redhawk. So, if a person is kind and friendly with you, it doesn't matter what they do other time, are they perverted/maniac/violators... And don't get defrauded, you know what they really want from you.
Even this's not a case, you might be acceptable to "abstract gays", but do you want to know some day that your father/brother/child is homosexual? What then?
Of course, I never advertise everyone to murder/jail/etc. gays. They aren't even all sick and need cure, may be they only have/had problems with women, all the need is a good girl/woman and pure love, and many of them may marry an live a normal life. In any human there is a ray of light... But many of us need help.
Quote: For example I think that Human isn`t normal person.
Yes, I'm not normal person, for I'm still interested in opposite sex... I need psychologist help and to be anal ****ed every day (to realize how it's good), if I still don't understand how cool Mike Tyson's ass and how sexy are Shvartznegger's legs .
BTW I've heard smth like Catholic Church doesn't count homosexuality as a sin more, is it real? I hope not, please say it's not so.
