I will take some steps away from the spider, to prevent it to reach me. As I have done the most damage until now, it will probably follow me(just a guess, do anything you want), allowing the others to do some damage.

Maximus: "Spiders are lighter than you would think for something that big."
Maximus walks over to the spider. He pulls out a piece of rope and ties it around the spider and drags it toward the entrance seemingly effortlessly. The rest of the party follows Maximus outside to the halfling. Before they can say anything to the halfling he walks up to them with a huge smile on his face and begins praising them.
Modo: "Wonderful. I see you've gotten one of the little ones. I'll have the crystal ready when you bring back the big one. I was worried you guys had died. Let me guess. Those damn things were hiding weren't they? On the ceiling?"

Isildur: Excuse me? Bigger ones? Umm, why didnt you tell us that it would hide on the roof, i would be in much better condition.
Modo: Well that little detail slipped my mind. Yes bigger ones. There is a nest about half a mile east. The spiders come from over there.
Maximus: Oh great so there are more, now what?
Modo: Well you go and kill them.
Maximus: You better not be toying with us little hobbit. When we return we want our crystal.
Modo: Dont worry they are not much stronger than the one you just killed.
Modo seemed like someone they had no reason to trust and yet they trusted that if they survived the spiders that he would give them some crystal as promised. The party continued on their quest to kill the spiders, only hoping they were as easy as the previous.

OOC: I wanted to add something else to the plot.
Maximus: Wait a minute. This isn’t what we agreed to. We agreed to one spider and that is definitely what you said. Spider! We should get more in return than was originally agreed upon.
Modo: “Would some more crystal be good?”
Maximus: “How do we know you won’t just give us the same amount of crystal? I don’t think so.
Modo: “Okay. How about I come with you?”
Maximus: “Why didn’t you come in just to begin with?
Modo: “I wasn’t sure you could kill the spiders and I’m defenseless against them. I’m a terrible fighter.”
Maximus: “Than what good would you do to help us?”
Modo: “You know those flowers you found? I’m an excellent cleric. I can heal very effectively, but I’m a terrible fighter. I grow lots of medicinal plants.”

OOC: Let's have Modo act like a normal party member, but no one member controlling him. He'll leave once we beat the "big boss".
BIC: Sephiroth: "Are you sure it's safe?"
Vadskye: "If he was tough enough to do anything to us, he would have killed the spiders before now. I'm not worried."
The party set out towards the lair.

Isildur: Listen, i am in no condition to fight more spiders anytime soon.
Modo: Yes i see. Well you can stay in my guest room tonight.
Maximus: Ok, but you have to feed us as well!
Modo: Well.. ah.. i dont see why not.
Modo was about to find out why not. The party ate more food than the entire village ate in a whole week! Sephiroth; although small in size, ate more than a full grown elephant! Mordikai and Isildur had an appetite for a little meat, or should i say 5kg of meat. Vadskye had his fair share of pasta... well actually about everyones share of pasta. Maximus decided to be stubborn and forced Modo to make flap jacks. They argued for at least 20 minutes, Modo saying flap jacks are only for breakfast, Maximus saying flap jacks are for whenever he wants them. After Modo refused for the millionth time, Maximus agreed that he would make his own flap jacks. Maximus was a bit more controlled though, being the only one in the group to use a napkin. Af.ter dinner was over Modo's entire pantry was almost empty.
Modo: You people are animals!!!
Sephiroth: Bah! Your appitite is small little one. Are you on a diet?
Modo: I beg your pardon?
Sephiroth: Well you look like you could lose a few pounds!
Sephiroth, obviously a bit tipsy after the many pints of ale he had, couldnt resist having a bit of fun with little Modo. Eventually he just fell asleep on the table. Mordikai had to carry him onto the guest room. Just as they expected, the guest room was as extravogant as the rest of the house. There were only 2 very comfortable bunkbeds and one uncomfortable looking couch.
Sephiroth: I CALL TOP BUNK!!!
Mordikai: Fine, ill go under you.
Maximus:I CALL THE OTHER TOP BUNK!!!
Vadskye: Ah crap, u better not fart Maximus!
Isildur: So i gotta sleep on that crappy look couch? Fine.
Everyone decided to have a good laugh at Isildur, that is until Isildur opened the couch up. It turns out the couch was a fold out bed, a king size fold out bed. All the other bunks were only single but Isildur was in a huge king sized.
Isildur: Hahahahahahaha!!! Well that shut you all up!
They all slept well that night, Isildur slept very well! They awoke to the early sun, creeping out of the blinds. Suddenly the blinds flew open almost blinding the companions.
Modo:Well good morn' to you all!
Isildur:Ah! Stupid hobbit! I was so peaceful.
Modo:Well its time to go.
The companions left the luxurious guest room and stept outside. It was a beutiful morning in the hobbit village. The birds were singing, little hobbits playing, bees mating... well that was quite scary as Maximus almost got stung several times. The party went to the bench in Modo's giant field of a backyard. They were shaded under the big trees extended branches. They had to decide when to leave and how to go about it.

Maximus: “Now who thought of that idea in the first place? Who knew that one person wouldn’t fair well against a giant spider? I almost remember…”

Mordikai brushed impatiently past the others, looking back and asking what the holdup was. Sephiroth, then the others, followed slowly, though all were reluctant to embark on the perilous journey that lay ahead. Even Modo seemed apprehensive about going to engage the spider, though he seemed to have had several run-ins with the beast and its offspring before.
The halfling did not fit in with the rest of the party, who did not trust him yet, Mordikai and Isildur least of all. Sephiroth simply didn't care what happened to him, yet Vadskye and Maximus, while hesitant to do so, began short, sporadic conversations with Modo from time to time, each less meaningful than the last. The two pairs of three seemed more like two different parties than just one group of six. This worried Maximus, but he only needed Vadskye's trust to make things right after all, so he did nothing.
The six men walked for what seemed an eternity, all the while having the little halfling assuring them that it was "just a bit further". With each lie Modo fed the adventurers, Mordikai became more and more certain that this little halfling did not, in fact, know where the nest was. As they camped on the soggy plains that night, he pulled Sephiroth and Isildur aside and told them of his premonition. The three agreed that something had to be done, and if they had not reached the nesting grounds by the next sunset, something would be done about it. Mordikai smiled as he fell asleep.
The next morning, the plains were covered with a light fog and a heavy dew. Each of the members was soaked and chilled to the bone, save for Modo, who had brought a luxury tent that was big enough for all six, but had only housed one. Mordikai hoped that sunset would come soon. They set off once again with the assurances that the nesting grounds were not too far away now.
Later in the day, the party stumbled upon a frightening sight as they finally reached their destination. A few hundred yards from the actual nesting sight, nearer the adventurers, was a giant spider corpse, much larger than the spider they had fought in the city. The blood had been drained and a light covering of webbing was crusted all over the giant beast, but most of it had rotted away. This was the father, but he had been sacrificed as food for the offspring. The carcass had been dead for weeks.
Modo covered his nose from the stench and shielded his eyes, then turned to the others and asked to be in the back of the party. Rolling his eyes, Mordikai agreed to go first into the nest. He did not fear this beast. He and Sephiroth took lead, with Isildur, Maximus, Vadskye, then Modo following closely behind.
Eventually, the party came upon a giant, white sac. Vadskye poked it curiously, which terrified Modo, who ran up and smacked his hand away and harshly warned the party not to touch the sac. If ruptured, millions of spider babies would pour out and attack the nearest living thing, which was, at the time, Vadskye. He drew back quickly and the party continued on, thankful that Modo was there to warn them of such dangers. The three in front still did not trust the halfling, but at least he could prove useful.
Rounding the sac, Mordikai stopped in awe, unintentionally stopping everyone else. As Sephiroth began to berate his friend for stopping so suddenly, Maximus interrupted and pointed the party's gaze in the direction of a giant pit which contained a gigantic spider web, but no spider. Cautiously, everyone began to circle the pit searching for a sign that may lead them to their target, but the search proved fruitless. Mordikai glared at Modo. Nothing was there.
Carefully, the party made their way back out of the nesting grounds, and soon found themselves next to the giant spider corpse again. But something was different, the corpse had been moved. The party realized this too late, and a loud shriek pierced the air as the spider they were looking for, a behemoth that was nearly twice her mate's size, crawled from behind the carcass and attacked the party without warning.
OOC: Sorry it took so long, but now we can finally fight this boss. RSF, you're up.

OK, I'll sneak 3rd round and go for backstab damage 4th round on the "baby" spider. Then I'll sneak 5th round and resume longbow attacks 6th and beyond, this time on the baby spider.

OOC: As a note I thought I would show how the battle is playing out.
QS - Max/Mord - Seph/Modo/Isil/Vads - Baby Spider - Nest
The party is sandwiched between the nest and the Queen Spider.
Round 3:
Vadskye sneaks to backstab Baby Spider. Sephiroth retreats to Modo to heal. Mordikai confronts the spider to take it's attacks. Dragon Slayer continues to attack with Composite Longbow. Modo begins casting Cure Medium Wounds on Sephiroth. Giant Spider attacks Mordikai. Baby Giant Spider attacks Modo.
Mordikai -> Queen Spider: Miss(10).
Modo casts Cure Medium Wounds on Sephiroth removing 12 points of damage.
Modo retreats at this point and Sephiroth attacks the Baby Spider. The Baby Spider responds and attacks Sephiroth.
