Network multiplayer problem
Hi, I'm hoping that someone here can give me a solution to my problem (since 3do tech support is a thing of the past).
I have recently networked my computers, one of the main reasons was to use Heroes 3 multiplayer in the network, but I can't get it to work. Every time I try to join the game with the second computer I get "Sorry, There was an error connecting to that session, please try again".
I have checked and double checked everything I can think of that would cause this problem. I was wondering port forwarding is necessary, and if so, what ports?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am able to play in game zone, but can't get my computers to connect in a LAN game using IP/TCP. all other network functions are working properly.
I will be thankful for any help.

Look here in the ToH-Forum. There is a thread (sticky)called "The ports H3 uses". There are many of problems like yours discused. Two links are posted there, which may also help you.

I installed Heroes on all computers from the same disk. I added another P.C. to the network recently and it is operating fine with no trouble connecting to multiplayer sessions, and that is without port forwarding. Now two of the three will work in multiplayer, but the other one will not.
The two that work are identical HP Pavilions running xp home edition. The one that won't join is an older Pavilion running Win. 98, I must have one of the settings screwed up on this one but I havn't been abled to figure it out yet.
Thank you both for your replies, and I will check out your suggestions.

Configure one of your computer as a "server". The network must be configurea first from one of the 2 computers with XP. it's very easy. You will create a network disk for the comp. with 98 operating system. Also you will need the 98 instalation disk.
It easier if you obtain a dinamic IP. I also tried to configure a static one, but no sucess

My prob is about Heroes 3 !!
I have prob when i try to play with 2 comps that in my home lan.
when i tried to play with 2 other ppl and my 2 comps @ home at the mode tcp/ip or at msn gaming zone it was like this:
I am the main com with the modem so only i could see the msgs @ the chat from the other 2 ppl and the other com that in my lan couldn't see the msgs.
anyway we started playing and on the first time that my 2nd com had to send data ( move turn ) it was stuck @ 99%.
so what i need to know that if its possible to play with the other com in my lan that has lan ip.. mayb i did something wrong @ the definitions of the lan i don't know.
my 2nd com is connected to my com with a lan cable, not with a router or something like that...
we all have the same version 1.0.0.0 its not the problem.
any suggestions?
