in history, ancient mages unfolded some anti-magic spells. they created an anti-magic shield with diamonds to the dragons and strengthened them to be the greatest ones. that's the main thing why dragons are immune to magic.

I know you know it in Lithuanian, but I just didn't want to say the name. Yes, it's between hydras, dragons and gorynychs. Also, it loves to eat young girls and is often slayed by a "brave knight that is in love with the girl"

Of all the HoMM dragons, I like the H2 Boner the best. Back then they were an unstoppable force - once you bought your first green dragon, there was already a necromancer with six or seven boners out and about (in some cases right in front of your castle). HoMM3 morphed them into the worst creatures on the level whose only use was to increase the Necros' chance of getting the first spell in.

I would very much like it if you added growth and cost in your list.
But after all, I am so tired of hearing about the greatness of the Black Dragon.

yea i agree with that one, and in HOMM4 those bone dragons seem to beat the crap out of me ever time. someone always seems to have a ton of them by the time i start building anything up. I used to love the black dragons till 4 came out and they became too expensive to possibly be worth the trouble!

I actually cant find a decent pic right now, and i cant be bothered looking anymore. If someone finds one post it up and ill add it to this post. Here are the stats and a brief description, not written by me.
Flyer
Attack - 30
Defence - 30
Initiative - 10
Speed - 9
HP - 240
The ominous Black Dragon has returned, and it is once again a destructive force on the battlefield. It deals the highest damage of any creature, has excellent attack and defense ratings, blazing speed, great Hit Points. The only slightly mediocre element is its initiative, at a 'lowly' 10. Its magical immunity makes the Black Dragon very difficult to defeat, seeing as there is no creature that can even stand up to its physical prowess.
(I think that little description was written by The_Hydra)
Can anyone give me a better insight of the BD in HV

Black Dragon was the strongest creature in Heroes1, Heroes2 and Heroes4, and one of the strongest creatures in Heroes3. It is truth that the firs and partially second game are imbalanced because of Mighty Dragons.
In all this games Black Dragons are IMMUNE AGAINST MAGIC! At the present, Nival taked a very THOUGHTLESS decision! Spell which deals non-magic damage and affects Black Dragons! This is very very insultingly for hard-core HOMM fans.

You mean the Fist spell? It conjures a fist in the air which then slaps the Black Dragons silly.
However, we're treading on dangerous ground here, ground that has also been covered before. If you assume that Magical-immune creatures can be damaged by conjured objects (in this case a fist in the air), why don't they take damage from a conjured huge icicle (Ice Bolt) or rocks falling down (Meteor Shower), a conjured set of spikes (Stone Spikes, Circle of Winter) or a blast wave (Fire Ball, ignoring the fire damage)?

Yes, that is interesting question!
Also why dont creature's Defence prevent that Physical damage? It is the same type damage like hand-to-hand or range damage: Physical!

Well I don't think we're entering a dangerous time but finally entering a time were all creatures are at threat to spells.and the black dragon should be no diffrent.now with the new ability in heroes 5 that gives your heroe the ability to strip away the magic resistance from any creature, all I can say is its about time.ever since heroes 2 black dragons and titans have been the monsters to get now they have both been brought down to a level were you still get a good benifit if you have them. But now they can be beat easly under the right situation.so now you no longer have to run when you see black dragons and titans coming your way.and if you lower the black dragons magic resistance then the benificial spell will work on them as well and there's some nice spell i would have loved to be able to use on dragons.but you can't b/c of there resistance.

Well, in the history of Might & Magic, dating back to the old RPGs, there has always been "magical damage" and "physical damage." I remember that Clerics in the old RPGs always had the Flying Fist spell that did physical damage even to magically imune creatures. All the elemental spells, whether damaging through fire, rocks, ice, etc. were magical. That kind of magic, even though it looks concrete in the animation, is really etherial.
