Ok everyone this is the thread for practice! This thread is for anyone who is new, learning, and wants to try posting pics
The question is: Can you do it?
For information on how to post pics please click on the FAQ/RULES link in the upper left hand corner of your screen just below the heroes community icon:
You can also check out a thread in the Turban Tribunal that gives some extra advice on how to upload graphics and avatars to the internet! The thread name is: "Avatar/Graphic uploading help"
If you seem to be having any problems with any of those places or simply don't understand the directions given by them feel free to ask myself by posting your question in this thread. If I don't know the answer to your question I'm sure one of the Mods will help us figure it out together!
Ok for my first try I'll post this:
Ok since this is a trial pic posting thread we need feedback! Spammers are welcome to spam your feedbacks! Feedback responses should probably follow along these sorts of phrases:
1. YAY YOU DID IT WE CAN SEE YOUR PIC! WOOHOO!
2. BOO! IT DIDN'T WORK TRY IT AGAIN!
3. I'M A SPAMMER I JUST WANT TO INCREASE MY POST COUNT WITH A PIC SO HERE IT IS!
Did my attempt work?

Quite simply, images are done using (img)http://www.thingy.gif(/img) tags, using the usual square [] instead of ().
That's a web addy in the tags. Your picture has to be online before you can post it -- there's been some confusion on this point.
If you want to see how anyone did any BB code trick, you can hit the "quote reply" link on their post. Their typing will be visible in the reply box.
Now, to test image restraints: Normal Pic
Restrained Pic?
Edit: Wahoo! The FAQ answers all questions! Restraining pic size requires a different code. The above is (swf width=192 height=120)http://www.jonathonart.com/tide-x.jpg(/swf) Edit II: Getting Fancy. I'm going to try to make this pic a link (oooh). It should lead people to the artist's website. Did it work? Edit III: Nope, trying again. Edit IV: One more time...
Edit V: Bah, I give up.

I'm not positive that this is what you're asking, but you can make a background transparent in Paint by
selecting it with the dotted rectangle icon, then, if you look below the list of icons, there should be two
new buttons. The bottom should turn the background transparent. Hope that helps.

Khaleo im a bit confused about making pics smaller. Could you maybe explain in a bit more depth. I used quote reply to see your post. Do the numbers you used indicate the size in pixles?
____________
Edit IV: Dragon_Slayer, yes, the numbers are the desired dimensions in pixels.
Edit V:
JPEG non-proportional swf attempt
GIF proportional swf attempt
Edit VI: Last edit for this post! Until I delete the pics, that is.
A) The code for restraining pictures is {swf width=# height=#}imageaddy{/swf}. Those numbers are in pixels. They determine the size of the "box" your picture will appear in.
B) You do not need to check your picture for its original dimensions, get out your calculator, and so on. If your numbers are not proportional (i.e. above, I tried to make a square out of a rectangle), the code just adds white bars to fill in part of the box. It will not distort your figures.
C) SWF only appears to work on JPEG pictures (.jpg). See the blank white square above? That's what happens if you try a GIF (.gif). This means you cannot resize smilies, animations, etc. The IMG tags work on all kinds of pictures.
Hope that helps.
