Lookin into the future of the Heroes 5 community.

chaining or not (I would appreciate its return) - I can live with anything as long as the gameplay will be addicive and offers strategical depth.
imo, to make h5-multiplayer interesting for a broader public, there has to be a simultaneous element in it. something like as long as opponent's heroes are out of reach, turns are simultaneous. once they get too close (or reach a certain region of the map), game will be turn-based. not many ppl (including me) have 5+ hours for a game with 2+ hours of doing almost nothing.

HIya Haile buddy. I have nothing but respect for you my old friend, however I have to say that if you want a couple hour game you should play Warcraft or something like that. And its really obvious the players who never really played H4 enough to see the strategical depth the game has. H4 infact, has much more stratigical depth potential then H3. Ofcourse alot does depend on maps design etc. But that was also true in h3.
I can honestly say I doubt Ubisoft will regress the game and bring back chaining. Heroes has evolved to bigger better things and concepts.
Regardless what happens I hope H5 reunites the H4 / H3 players.
Peace!

Hi ho Jinxer. I also respect your views, but still you have to read my posts better and not assume things I haven't said.
I have no bigger problem with a couple of hour games, but I hate doing (almost) nothing in between turns. As long as there's no interaction, players can as well clear their "sides" simultaneously. Also, I never said anything about the strategical potential of h4. I just want h5 to have some.
I'm tired of the "heroes has evolved", "h4 has more potential" discussions and won't comment these. That's quite subjective anyways and everybody has the right to have his opinion. I'm more interested in facts, like activity numbers. And I can't see how h4 has evolved in this ressort. Therefore my suggestion to make h5 appealing to a broader public.
Enjoy the weekend, so will I

I was a mega-heroes3 addict as much as any of you... but I feel chaining was a 'bug in the system' from the beginning anyways, and the better it gets removed.

Without chaining, the gameplay is slower, more stable, and harder to change. If your army is 30 moves from you headquarters and the opponent is 28 moves from it, you will not be able to defend your home.
With chaining, gamplay is faster, easier to change, and you can always find your way back home in some form if you truly wish. The "strategic communication" between the players has a greater degree of freedom, and the choices we make affect the game more.
I am for chaining. But its ok without it too.

chaining!!
blech!!
I'm all for some system of rapid transit that could maybe be built in towns like the teleporter in AOW, but to have to sit and wait thru hour long turns while some jackass chains his troops all over the damn place fighting battles with 7 different heroes each turn makes me want puke, esp. when it's validity as a strategy is questionable. In some situations it was a good strategy, such as getting back to town quick if yer enemy showed up unexpected like, but those guys who'd use it to vacuum maps and make hour long turns drove me nuts. PLEASE replace it with something else!! anything but more chaining!!!!
