New Mini tournament idea
Mapmaster Champions from last season should be able to defend their titles. Challenges can be made official on the message board on a first come first serve basis. If the current mapmaster is defeated (maybe in a best of 3 game series) then the title is passed to the victorious challenger, and the process is repeated. It's almost like a mini warlord series for particular maps. This can bring more set maps back into play.
**If you don't like the idea of previous champions still reigning (whether they no longer participate in toh, or are no longer allowed to participate in toh -haha) in this new season, maybe a whole bunch of mapmaster tournaments can be ran simultaneously to get a new champion.**
I have a whole set of cool ideas to go along with this proposal. If enough people like the proposal above then I'll proceed in telling the rest of the plan which includes exciting ways of gambling for more points with the risk of losing more points etc.

That would be as fun as warlords.
It would be better if they do it like in any other sport & play it as it is & if they are the true masters of that certain map or template, then they can take the title back again.

Hmmm, I like this idea. It could be run very much like Warlords only be open to any rank and be restricted by map instead. The only "problematic" issue I can possibly see would be we would need a way to show who is the current master, i.e. we would need some sort of symbol much like the Warlords have their shields. The problem I can see there would be the massive number we would need. There have already been 10 MapMasters run last season for Heroes 3 and there would be more for Homm3 and then the Homm4 rounds as well. Suggestions for a solution to that issue would be welcome.
Overall my thinking is to run new MapMasters for new maps the same way they were run last year, by bracketed playoff tournament. But after that any new map ran could then go to a challenge sort of format. Thoughts?

I think there can be more new ideas to come up with then a warlords type Map masters.

If you think there are more new ideas, then lets hear them! Don't just bash the idea that is out there, unless you have something else to offer. And it wouldn't really be like Warlords any way. Only similarity would be that it would be on a challenge basis. I like his idea of having it be a best out of 3 or something similar. At any rate no ideas are set in stone at this point. I just wanted to make it known, to him in particular, that I think it's an interesting idea and I am interested in hearing or knowing more.

I helped come out with some of the tournaments before.
Even tho you consider every ideas yours, even map masters.
You cant take an opinion then dont bash mine cause I dont think it's a good idea.
Of course you do what you want anyways.
Not that you could on mah.
Alright lets do it, lets have the warlords mapmasters.

I know you have helped with some of the tournament ideas in the past, that's part of the reason I was irritated that this time, instead of offering a constructive alternative, you just bashed the idea that was there. You have a right to your opinion, that you don't think it would be very good, but you mention there were better ideas, well let's hear them. If you have something constructive, I'd like to hear it. And, for the record, I do not consider every idea mine, especially MapMasters, that was Motorschaaf's idea and I have never tried to take credit for it. I'm not the best tournament idea person, I have always admitted to that. That's why MAH didn't work all that well, there was no one to come up with good, complete ideas once Motor left. There are certain things that I am good at, very good at actually, and that's why Ves has kept me on for the new season. I don't think he's had any complaints so far.

I never bashed the idea at all, all I said was I didnt think it was a good idea because it was similar to warlords.
If you want to defend your belt, instead of challenges you can do the brackets like any other tournament defending your title in sports.
If you are the best then you should be able to play in challengers thats thrown at them
If so you can repeat the same map all is up to it to see if the winner can still keep his title.
I wouldnt bash it tho.
Maybe I was a bit irritated but never bash.
