MORALE SYSTEM IN H4
I found some info on the net, but I recreated it into a new post.
MORALE...
Morale gives more and more chance to get extra turn.
MORALE BY ALLIANCE?
* ALLIANCES AFFECT MORALE:
Yep, they can. See below, but first, remember what the alliances are.
Life is in alliance with Order and Nature.
Death is in alliance with Order and Chaos.
Order is in alliance with Life and Death.
Chaos is in alliance with Death and Nature.
Nature is in alliance with Life and Chaos.
MORALE BENEFITS AND MINUSES
For Life, Order, Chaos, Life, and Death troops:
+1 morale if troops are from the same alignment.
-1 morale for the presence of each alignment with which there is an "alliance".
-2 morale if Might troops are present.
-5 morale for the presence of each alignment that is different and with which there is no “alliance”.
For Might troops:
+1 morale if Might troops are present.
-2 morale for the presence of each alignment that is not Might.
EXAMPLES
Waspwort (Nature) has -8 morale due to the accumulative total of the following:
the presence of Nature (+1),
the presence of Might (-2),
the presence of Life (-1),
the presence of Chaos (-1),
the presence of Death (-5).
Harpy (Might) has -7 morale due to the accumulative total of the following:
the presence of Might (+1);
the presence of four other different alignments (-2 x 4 = -8).
Squire (Life) has -12 morale due to the accumulative total of the following:
the presence of Nature (-1),
the presence of Might (-2),
the presence of Life (+1),
the presence of Chaos (-5),
the presence of Death (-5)
Pirate, Orc, and Medusa (all Chaos) each has -8 morale due to the accumulative total of the following:
the presence of Nature (-1),
the presence of Might (-2),
the presence of Life (-5),
the presence of Chaos (+1),
the presence of Death (-1)
And death alignment. Undeads are not affected, but the others are:
Cerberus (Death) has -12 morale due to the accumulative total of the following:
the presence of Nature (-5),
the presence of Might (-2),
the presence of Life (-5),
the presence of Chaos (-1),
the presence of Death (+1)
SPELLS AND ARTIFACTS THAT AFFECT MORALE
SPELLS:
MIRTH:
Increases targets morale to its maximum.
MASS FERVOR:
All friendly units receive maximum morale.
SORROW:
Gives target maximum negative morale.
MASS SORROW:
Mass Sorrow causes all enemy targets to have maximum negative morale.
ARTIFACTS:
CLOUD OF DESPAIR: When thrown at a creature or space, all creatures within a 3x3 yard area get a negative 10 to their morale.
POTION OF MIRTH: Gives the hero who drinks this potion maximum positive morale.
CREST OF VALOR: Gives all friendly targets +1 morale.
MULLICH’S HELM OF LEADERSHIP: All friendly targets get +2 morale and +1 speed.
MEDAL OF HONOR: All friendly targets get +2 morale.
FIZBIN OF MISFORTUNE: Autonomously casts Misfortune on all enemy targets as long as a hero has it equipped.
MARANTHEA’S MUG: Morale is heightened by 3 for every unit.
HARMONIC CHAINMAIL: Increases the hero's Melee and Ranged Defense by 15, and grants the hero Mirth.
LEADERSHIP
Leadership also affects morale. I think it's:
B:+1
A:+2
E:+3
M:+4
G:+5
---------------
I must have forgotten something. Remind me and I’ll add.

Leadrship
Leadership also affects morale. But I haven't played H4 in a long time so I'm not sure how the mastery affects
morale. I think it's:
B:+1
A:+2
E:+3
M:+4
G:+5
I maybe wrong

Yes, you are correct, Leadership increases both - Luck and Morale by 1,2,3,4,5. And I think I remember, that Might gets more penalties, if spellcaster object is at preasent.

From the first post: "Morale gives more and more chance for extra turn"
Really? As far as I know, it just gives chance to do your turn before others, but no extra. And there should be a little extra damage, is there?

In reply to EmperorSly:
yes it gives another turn but if you have the maximum. I think luck adds damage, not morale.
BTW, I got +25 morale once, when I got Maranthea's Mug, Crest of Valor, Medal of Honor and had grandmaster leadership in addition to a potion of mirth who increased morale in combat. Strange...

Nope.
Morale adds +25 % damage and the first turn before those, who didn't get it. negative Morale makes creature do -25 % damage and it goes after non moraled creatures do thier turns.
Luck takes makes you target take 1/3 damage instead of full.

LOL, it is the basic morale system change in Homm4 from Homm3. It doesn't give any extra attacks, it just gives extra damage and the movement preference.

I do not know, the Heroes 3 system looked quite well unbalanced in my view, it is like not using all your troops, but in Homm4 all get thier moves, althought it takes more time and damage is reduced. Well both games had thier good sides and bad. It is a matter of taste.

Sure, the morale does not give extra turn though in certain situations it may look like it gives. If an unit with very high morale waits, it goes last on the current turn, and if it has morale on the next turn again, it goes first - this way it moves two times consequently, but these are its moves for the two turns.
Lich_King, if you play Heroes3 enough with impossible setting, you surely will learn to use all of your troops :-)
It is not so easy to build the higher level dwellings early.

The following places increase your morale.
Fountain of youth: +1
Oasis and Water Hole: +1

Temple of Nature: Nature+2, Life & Chaos +1
Temple of Order: Order+2, Life & Death +1
Temple of Death: Death+2, Chaos & Order +1
Temple of Chaos: Chaos+2, Death & Nature +1
Once again, I may have left out some buildings or made a mistake, coz' I haven't played H4 in a while. Please correct any mistakes I've made
