Poster Of The Month.
I've heard a few Mods talk about giving out QP's for poster of the month. But I never see anywhere, where they really advertise who this was.
Would it be a good idea to use this thread and have each Forums' POtM named?
Then in between memebers could nominate their choices and point out cool posts to the Mods.
Then the Mods for each forum could get together in MosSquadHQ and pick.

I nominate Celfious for his longer posts with more sense than usual. 
I also nominate Shirastro and Asmodean, for their universality in covering every thread. But then, there's also Khayman. I really don't know ??

Both. I would say, a little bit more specific than Svarog is (though I thank you for the compliment  ).
You know, like this - I nominate for eg - Svarog for his good post on page x of thread y. And then give a reason. Others can then go along to that page without having to look through the whole thread, and then agree or disagree.
On the other hand, if someone continually posts well throughout the month in a single forum/thread you could point that out.
The final say will still go to the mods of course.
This idea will only get off the ground if people take to it though. Does anything think it's a bad idea for any reason? I think it'll give other members beside the Mods a chance to let other posters know they're doing well.
A nomination - even though you might not earn a QP, would still make you feel good imo.
Ok - So my nomination goes to Vadskye91 for his post on page 1 of the Tavern thread 'Boyfriend vs Husband'.

are you talking abuot a poster of the month on each board? or an entire board as whole? my suggestion is seperate it into categorys
Serious Boards (Turban, Other Side of the moniter)
Heroes Boards (Library of enlightenment, H5 Alter of Wishes, Wake of Gods)
Tournament Of Honor
Other Boards (Tavern, Bards)
that way five people a month will win an award. Also, to make it fair- the same person cannot win the potm for the same board within a spam of 5 months.

i have to say man.. I am unhappy with some of the members here only having 2 stars.
I wont say names I guess, but dont mods see good posts sometimes? I mean, 3 red stars isnt suposed to be easy to get but its not good that some of the quality posters around here only have 2 still.
That being said the only reason I can possibly see myself with 4 is because i've been here nearly 3 years with 2000+ posts. (not to mention deleted ones).

I agree with you, Celf.
But I don't agree with a poster of the month, it's just too often. If there was one every six months or something, that'd be different.
I thought QPs were earned through quality posting, not just because you happen to have posted the best overall in a month.

well every 2% of the posts should have QP:s.
thats one for every 50 posts.
I dont think giving out one extra each month would violate that too much, in fact i believe it works for the good as some of the posters might see it as an ambition to become PoTM.

That's what I thought.
And I envisioned it like 2Xtreme said, with each forum having it's own poster of the month, nominated by members and decided by mods.
EDIT: I think Svarog should get a QP for his Tavern thread 'Heroes Personality Test'

i have been doing a lot of good posting over the past couple of months ok some have been a bit opinionated and Ive notice that some have been deleted and after i started using puctuation to well that didnt work so ive stopped doing it but I honestly believe that i deserve another QP i only have a few post but at least 1/4 were very good and that is a better ration then most members here have yet I never seem to get Qp and there are lots of other memebrs who by all rights should be showered with Qp due to there consistend inteligent and humourous post but a It just does not seem to happen
this is not a sign of HC members not being good but moderators being to lazy to look over the threads to find post that are of a extraordinary high standard instead they go for the same people who I dont doubt have great post but when other post with a equal or greater quality they should also be rewarded
ah well thats enough of my self rightous indignation
and remeber VOTE QP FOR ORION

i agree and i should also get a qp (good god imagine what would actually happen if i got one non stop requests for position of assitant admin )now when is the giving of my QP going to be seen to.
we do need a poster of the month
a list of nominees should be made by members and mods. Then the mods should narrow it down and
finaly everyone should get to vote for one person from the final list the mods come up
so everyone would decide who deserves the qp each month
that way everyone would get some say in poster of the month, and in the giving of qps.
After all mods form such a small part of HC yet they get to decide who has the most valued opinions, beliefs etc and who contributes more to the forum.
I believe we should all get a say in what is interesting and intellingent and what we which to encourage in this forum.

Could some moderator or someone incharge tell us the newbies why didn't that idea get through?
Seemed like a great idea to me, just maybe the period time should be 2 months or so...
It has gotten great feedback from quality posters so why this was not implemented?

I think it was in effect...early last year. I remember because I was nominated by just one member and subsequently lost. I guess there's little interest from the people here. Especially after a certain banning.

And Daddy. We were both nominated two times in a row for The Minks' Jolly Good Adventure and then another time for Guild of Pixelartists, I think. It was pretty fun, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing it back. Of course, most of the people who were nominated are now away for one reason or another, and I'm not exactly sure if we've got enough quality activity to pick out five nominees each month without repeating four of them every time.
Still, gotta be worth a try.

EDIT: Just remembered one more thing. Back then, the poster of the month was given the privilage to display the Poster of the Month banner (made by Daddy) in their signature.

True . . .
I sort of miss reading his little comics. Daddy and Lord_Woock created some remarkably amusing comics. They were fun to read. I enjoyed how they incorporated their story in a medieval setting with castles and such. The Minks Jolly Good Adventure were the only comics Heroes Community has ever had, sadly.
I'm a person who loves reading the comics section of the newspaper. Heroes Community has plenty of talented pixel artists. I think this would only add to the already wonderful atmosphere here. The more variety the better!
