'This is not good', he said with a shocked expression.

*Farther off in the land of Achadia we join an older Mighty Mage preparing lessons for his 16 year old daughter, Rose.*
Mighty Mage: Rose dear, come on over here. I have a suprise.
Rose: If it's your stupid rock again I don't care.
Mighty Mage: It's not stupid. It is a very powerful...
Rose: Blah blah blah. I don't care daddy. How many times do I have to tell you that?
Mighty Mage: Wheather you care or not is out of the...uh...the....just come here.
Rose: GRRRRRRRRRR! You never care about what I want to do, it's always you.
Mighty Mage: And I guess you had somthing better planned?
Rose: Yes. I was going to go into town. They just opened that new tavern and I wanted to check it out. You should go. Maybe you can sell that rock of yours.
Mighty Mage: I'm not selling it. I've been sworn to protect it you will be too.
Rose: Make me.
Mighty Mage: Ohhh I intend to.
*knock knock knock*
Mighty Mage: I'll get back to you.
Rose: Whatever.
*Mighty Mage walks over to the door which sounds with another couple of knocks*
Mighty Mage: I'm coming I'm coming. Hold your...hold your...uhhhh...whatever you kids ride these days.
*Finally reaching the door, Mighty Mage opens it to find a messenger bearing the seal of the Supreme Magi waiting with a letter*
Mighty Mage: Blast it...what do you want?
Messenger: I come bearing a letter for the one called Mighty Mage. Would you care for me to read it or would you rather your privacy?
Mighty Mage: I can read just fine. Hand over the letter.
Messenger: As you wish sir.
*Mighty Mage grabs the letter and shuts the door on the messenger.*
Mighty Mage: What do those people want now? Mmmmmmm...can't hardly read this thing...damned youguns always gotta make the print smaller. Back in my day we printed big enough so a man could read it.
Rose: Just give me the letter dad.
Mighty Mage: Fine. I wouldv'e been able to read it though.
Rose: Sure dad. Let's see...blah blah blah...somthing somthing...mission...somthing somthing...wind zyph...thing...blah blah blah...Hey, I'm in it. Your Daughter is being requeasted before the circle of gaurdians? What's that mean?
Mighty Mage: That means they want to know if you've learned anything or if you're still goffing around.
Rose: They can't make me learn stuff. Besides, I know magic just fine.
Mighty Mage: Like what?
Rose: Well, I can make bunnies appear. Oooh and I can make branches and stuff grow.
Mighty Mage: Ok, you obviously know you nature magic. Can you do anything else?
Rose: Not yet but I'm working on it. I just don't have time.
Mighty Mage: No, you just don't make time. Look, they want us to go to this dinner tommorrow night. You are expected to know at least somthing about the Wind Zypher.
Rose: The who?
Mighty Mage: Ughhhh, my rock.
Rose: What is it with your mage friends and rocks?
Mighty Mage: Just sit down Rose. I'll explain it to you.
*So Mighty Mage has a task before him. He must teach his daughter about the crystal, why there are gaurdians and why it is so important. Time to crack open the books. If only Rose understood.*

Just before I left I received a letter from someone I hadn't heard from in years.
Vadskye had always been a bit of a mystery to me. Seemingly naive on the surface, he always managed to scrape out of whatever trouble he'd gotten into. Then he'd had a brief career as a wannabe mage.
While his spells were crude, they complemented him perfectly.
But when I read the letter I wondered just how much my old 'friend' knew.
'Dear Dean. I'm having a spot of bother at the minute. There seems to be a distinct rise in the levels of evil about the place these days.
Do you know anything about it?
Get back to me,
Vadskye'.
The only rising evil I knew about were the demons. Under Deimos they had been growing restless, and my careful prodding had convinced Deimos that an all out attack on the rest of the world was a good idea.
What else could make Vadskye think of me?
Unless.........The Forsaken Ones couldn't be loose again! I SAW them all sealed away. I was there when Death finally was sucked into the master Emerald!
So no.
I still had the Ice Mace, and I would have felt a disturbace in it if that were the case.
So if it wasn't the demons and it wasn't the Forsaken what was it?
It didn't matter. If it interfered in my plans I would crush it or assimilate it. I had the power now.
Drafting a reply to Vadskye I wrote:
Dear Vadskye,
Haven't seen you in years old chum, I'll be taking a jaunt to your part of the country soon.
Meet me at the Tavern on Spring Solstice and we can discuss your letter.
Dean.
I would meet with Vadskye, kill him if need be, and then continue on to meet Deimos and deal with this Mvass creature if I needed to as well.

*The days had passed and the time came for the dinner. Rose's knolwedge of the crystal was just enough to pass Mighty Mage off as a good enough instructor. Hopfully she would restrain from calling it a rock*
Mighty Mage: Rose, hurry up. I don't like showing up late.
Rose: Jeez dad. We're not gonna be late. We still have an hour.
Mighty Mage: No, we still had an hour a HALF HOUR AGO. Now MOVE IT.
Rose: I'me not gonna show up looking like I just cleaned out the barn.
Mighty Mage: Since when were you even slightly interested in this.
Rose: Since you made me learn all that stuff. I just don't see why we have to gaurd that thing. It's not like those dark thingies are gonna come back. You said yourself they were sealed up tight.
Mighty Mage: That's what the mages thought all those years ago too. The Forsaken One's are not dead. Just contained. What's to say they arn't siting in there thinking of a way to escape.
Rose: Well if they do than we'll just suck um back up.
Mighty Mage: If only you knew Rose, if only you knew. Well, we better get going. We don't want to be late. Besides, I'm loking forward to seeing an old friend.
Rose: Really? You have friends?
Mighty Mage: Of course I do. I just don't see most of them anymore. Things happen and people grow apart.
Rose: Well, whatever happened I guess we should go. I want to get this gaurdian thing done and over with.
*Although Rose didn't see it now, her bond to the crystal would prove to be important as time passed. An evil slowly grew beneath the surface that not even the mightiest of mages could see*

After a night's hard flight, Dean let go of his bat form and entered the town. The gate-guards were asleep, so he left them that way. It might have been fun to kill them, but a trail of bodies has a way of pointng fingers.
Wrapping himself in illusion Dean assumed a more human appearance, his sallow cheeks took on the bloom of life and his eyes changed from a glowing green to their old blue.
Looking for the tavern named Spring Solstice Dean entered. There were only a few customers, none of them Vadskye so Dean ignored them.
Handing a few coins to the innkeeper Dean paid for a windowless room and asked to be told when Vadskye arrived. Then he went up to his room and began to plan what to do if Vadskye had rumbled his secrets......

OOC: No! Diemos DOESN'T EXIST! Or Mvassilev doesn't! You can only have ONE in a given thread! Either that or they can never interact with each other, or something. You can't have an alliance with yourself!
EDIT: Thanks Mvass, that helps. But did you really have to invent a new character to do that? I think it'd be best if Phobos and Deimos and whoever else only tied to you should not be here. I think it'd be best just to pretend Deimos (or Mvass) never existed or something.

Mvass took out the magic mirror Deimos gave him.
Mvass:
Mirror, Mirror, in my hand,
Is the one called Dean in this land?
The mirror showed him a tower. People in robes were walking into it. They had badges shaped like sheilds, with the letters "RM" on them. The tower also had "RM" on it. Mvass looked at it, and figured out where it would be.
A few hours later...
Mvass arrived at the tower. There were lights in the windows. A guard stood at the door.
Guard: If you wish to enter, show badge of the Royal Order of Supreme Magi.
Mvass thought the name was familiar. His summoner was once a member. Mvass possessed his summoner's body. With any luck...
Mvass took out a burnt badge.
Guard: You may pass.
Mvass entered the tower. He faced a high door with a sign on it. The sign said, "ROSM Test and Banquet held here". Mvass entered. Inside were men and women in robes. They clearly were Supreme Magi. He walked up to one with a teenage girl.
Mvass: I have not visited this place in a while. What is your name?
Man: MightyMage. And this is my daughter, Rose. And what is your name?
Mvass: Mvass.
MM jumped. He knew the fire elemental's reputation.
Mvass: What's wrong, MightyMage?
MM: You are supposed to be dead.
Mvass: Wrong. I'm supposed to be ruling the Inferno.
MM: What are you doing here?
Rose: Who is he?
Mvass: The God of Fire.
MM: Don't listen to him. He's a bad influence.
Rose: So are most people I know, according to you.
MM: He is a bad person.
Mvass: Who told you that?
MM: Rinaldo San Farino II.
Mvass: RSF! Figures. I was an enemy during the Spam War. It doesn't surprise me. Where is RSF, anyway?
MM: Over there. He's with his son, Rinaldo San Farino the III.
Mvass went to meet RSF.
Mvass: Do you recognize me?
RSF: Do you want to be trapped in time?
Mvass: Is that your idea of a threat nowdays? You're an old man. I could kill you if I wanted to.
RSF: Try it!
Mvass: Now, did I say I want to? I only want to ask a question.
RSF Jr.: Dad, he's Mvass, isn't he?
RSF: Yes, he is. Alright, Mvass, what's the question?
Mvass: Where is Dean?
RSF: Dean? He was thrown out of the Order for doing Necromancy years ago. By the way, I heard the demons are rising.
Mvass: Thank you.
Mvass went to a dark corner.
Mvass:
Mirror, Mirror, in my hand,
Show me Deimos in his land.
The mirror showed him a strange perspective, as if the other mirror was on the ground. He looked a little closer. Many of Deimos's servants were hanging from statues, dead. There was blood everywhere. Deimos picked up the other mirror.
Deimos: Mvass!
Mvass: Your Majesty, Dean is not in the Royal Order of Supreme Magi.
Deimos: Never mind that! Rebel demons attacked the palace. They are lead by one named Phobos.
Deimos fell silent. Then he fell, impaled by a claw. Behind him stood a demon that looked much like Deimos, but was green.
Demon: I am Phobos! I will make sure all worlds are ruled by demons!
Mvass: Phobos, just try it. The Inferno is mine!
Phobos: Long live the Forsaken Ones!
The mirror went blank.
Mvass: NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vadskye: "The energy source appears to have moved off for now. It's about time."
Woah and Vadskye returned to Order Fort. Vadskye found Dean's letter on his desk. After reading it, Vadskye decided to go. Although the Dean that he used to know would never say "Old Chum", they had all grown older over the years and he had probably changed a bit. (OOC: Yeah, a bit. lol.) Woah wanted to come with him, and Vadskye couldn't see why not. It wasn't as if Dean said to come alone or anything. So they set off for the tavern.
After they arrived, the innkeeper told them that Dean was waiting for them. They went up the stairs and found him in a windowless room. That was odd, because Dean had always loved the outdoors. He had changed, Vadskye could see it. Still, he looked okay.
Vadskye: "How'vya been? I owe my life to you ya know. We should have met more often, but I've been busy. We all have."
Dean: "You brought someone?"
Vadskye: "Yeah, he's the reason for all this. He had a feeling that something big was coming down, and we're thinking it might be the Forsakens."
Woah: "Forsaken Ones."
Vadskye: "Forsakens."
Woah: "Forsaken Ones."

I looked at Vadskye's companion and immediately my blood ran colder. Whoever this was he was full of pure goodness like an all consuming cancer! I could feel it pouring off him in sickening waves.
Keeping my eye on him I sat at the table and gave Vadskye my most beaming smile.
'Sit old friend, and tell me more. Why do you think it's the Forsaken Ones come back again?'
As I listened I felt relieved that he did not know my secrets, nor see me as a threat. It would be a shame to kill him. Then again, what did I care these days.....

'I don't know why, I just feel there's more and more evil out there. Demons, undead, Forsaken Ones... I have no idea, it could be anything,' Woah said, feeling a bit uneasy. The evil feel of the air increased considerably when he entered the room. He didn't want to say anything yet though, feeling that it may not be the best moment.
Dean kept looking at Woah. 'You look familiar, you know? Do I know you?'
'Doubt it' Woah said. For a fraction of a second, he was genuinely scared. Luckily, Vadskye and Dean didn't seem to have noticed.
OOC: Vadskye, you do NOT know anything about my powers. You don't know about my healing abilities, although one of your previous posts stated otherwise. I want Woah to be a complete mystery.

*Mvass the fire god was wailing in the corner. It seemed as if he was crying over somthing but Mighty Mage did not know what, nor did he care. That summoner was suposedly dead. Whatever brought him back was not good. According to the records, Mvass was the real gaurdian of the Land's Opal...somthing RSF took over years ago. It seemed that becoming the living embodiment of evil could change a man. RSF had gone through this change. He even offered to give up the crystal after it was all over. The Council denied him of this. Since Mvass was proclaimed dead and RSF had the crystal anyways, they granted him gaurdianship, although to him it was more of a punishment. He wanted nothing to do with with the council. He prefered doing things on his own rather than listenin to someone else tell him what to do.*
Mighty Mage: Rose, look over there. It's the head of the council.
Rose: God, he's older than you.
Mighty Mage: Yes, I know. He should have died years ago. Some say a mage inflicted him with a curse. I don't know though. Either way he will be the one testing your knowledge of the emerald.
Rose: What happens afterwards?
Mighty Mage: If you pass than the crystal goes into your possesion. If not than I have to train you more.
Rose: Ok, ok. I'll try to pass. I wish mom was here though.
Mighty Mage: We both do honey. We both do.
*Dinner was served and Mighty Mage sat down with Rose to eat. An hour passed and the head of the council began to speak. He called RSF jr. forward said a few words to him and than called for his father. They headed into a room behind the council table and so began the first test. It wasn't long before the doors opened back up and RSF and his sone headed back out. Next up was Rose. She was called forward, spoke to and then sent into the other room. Mighty Mage followed. The test had changed over the years. More questions and each one was harder than the last. Mighty Mage watched as his daughter answered. Each one seemed correct but only time would tell.*
