Bracket style tournies? :)
I've been away from the tournament for some time now. When I left there were several interesting tournaments going on, but now it seems like there's only clans (which is great), and that is, for me at least, not an option for a tournament at the moment :/ I loved the bracket style tournies, they were finished quickly enough to give come and go players like me an option Also, this is a great way for low ranked players to get a try against the big guys ..... will it take long before there will be new tournies opened, or will you wait until clans are done?

Hey Lord Lazy, I have several bracket style tournies in mind, but it requires more activity to even be considered. Right now clans is running fine, but subtourneys like warlords barely move. The current rate of activity is weak enough that clans is pretty much the only thing that can stand on its own. Other tourneys would end up unfinished at this point in activity, hence not a good idea to start.
I just hope homm5 restores activity to ToH season IV levels.

The warlord tournie is dead I guess, the Warlord Buckler holder is baron now for example..
Activity is low... but (even though I have no clue) new tournies might raise activity... the "Call to Power" tournament seems very interesting... especially now, when many of the vets are busy with clans there are lots of active footmen, as far as I can see... (still, I'm not the right guy to judge it though)

I pretty much enjoyed The Hero tournament , although i only played it at wizard and warriors site. And i`m sure there will be more fans for a hero or native tourney, especially Splexx and Grendal .

Funny you should mention "bracketed" and "Natives" in the same sentence. I have started doing some work on a possible bracketed Natives but I haven't played much for native games so I am struggling a little bit with setting up the rules. If you guys could help me out with the basics, we could get this up and running very soon.
Also still planning on some MapMasters, which are bracketed. Those will be for both Heroes 3 and Heroes 4, which I guess is part of the reason it hasn't gotten done yet. I have no ideas for necessary rules for the Heroes 4 side, so don't have everything all worked out. Could use some help from you Heroes 4 players on that one.

The basic idea is that everybody starts with the two heroes that belong to that castle, and can only hire an additional one every week (the one on left side in tavern that belong to same castle). If the players lose any of those he got , no adittional heroes can be hired until next week). The rules can be modified in many ways:allow pick for castle and first hero, allow retreat of main hero or direct defeat if he is defeated either by opp or wandering monsters.
Another way is to edit map at the start and each player gets 2-3 heroes that he use in game , no taverns available.Of course , the traditional hero game is fine too , but the presence of a scout or two greatly reduce games time...
Another cool tournament was the one where every player chosed a hero which he used as start of the game .Every won game provided an amount of gold that allowed that hero to buy experience , ,artifacts or troops that were available in pandora for his next games.Of course, addicts player have an advantage here...i think it was called Might vs Magic or something , i havent played it , only my friend Wanderer did, so i`ll ask him to post here , although i`m sure there are many that remember about it....

being a luver of ANYTHING but regular games:)
My advice if your looking for something different for a subtourny...
Natives
it's best to choose town and hero with natives..
but not choose hero ahead of time like the last toh natives tourny..
2 native hero limit first week then one per week after..it's fair for both...
if not..once i got 5 natives and opp got only 2 first week lol
OR
Native Hero
2 natives first week..then day 7 dismiss scout and only main for the rest of the game..
mind u both ways need a degree of trust from the opp..
but i think most that will play this are folks we know ..
otherwise..have to save every day
What i mean by choosing is...all participants choose their starting town , not hero, if opps disagree bout their starting hero then its random heroes
would be fun
