Poll Question: Since Heroes Will Be in Battles, Should There Be Duels (Important)
Well I was playing Kessen( IM from america and its on Playstation 2, im not sure if anybody heard of it) Well its a Chinese war game with strategies and commands and dueling commanders.
Well back to subject well since Heroes are going to be in battle should there be a option for dueling in the game? I mean a sepret battle just for heroes to battle. You could taunt other heroes in the real battle and they or u could challenge them to a duel and whoever looses, gets a great lost of luck and morale for their army. I think it should be in the game it would be cool. Well tell me your ideas should it be? Ideas and questions post them

I thought that idea too...
I think it wouldn't be bad idea at all...
However the thing is how it would happen?
Should it happen before combat or during it?
How the outcome of duel would affect hero. I mean does duel go to until "death" and another hero cannot fight in the real battle anymore or should duel be close in the way that the damage taken in duel is completely healed into battle?
Both players (heros) should of course have opportunity to say no to duel challenge. Should morale decrease in the troops of hero that refused to take the duel? How much the duel would affect into the battle? Morale penalties should of course apply but how about everything else? Maybe you could get some experience too. It could goto thing that every battle would start with duel and it could be really annoying. In which battles you could use duel?
I think there shouldn't be any creatures in the duel because why there would be any duel then anyway? Duel is about two heroes fighting each other to gain honor.

You probably could duel in HOMM4.
Since your hero is in your army, you probably can go into the world without creatures. If you agree with another player to fight without creature backup you have your duel. Assuming you can trust the other player.

I think it could be a skill. You could click on the options palatte (the one where you choose to dig for the grail) and click duel. Then you click on your opponent. If they say no, they get -1 morale until next battle. (I would be bummed, too, if I thought my commander couldn't take the enemies' commander, or was a wimp).
In it, it would be one on one only. The winner gets experience equal to what they would of gotten if they won normally. The enemie keeps their troops in a creature caravan, but can't be attacked or attack again for another turn. The loser would be a gravestone.
At higher levels of the skill, it would cost money to refuse, and the computer would be less likely to refuse.
It may seem complicated, but it could work. Maybe if all the creatures died, too. Just an idea.

I think the creatures should go back to there creature buildings in there castles. Thus forces them to be paid for again as the penlty for losing the duel.

This is a cool idea, I wonder how it would be handled. Is the idea that the leaders battle to decide the battle (ie - losers troops have to retreat or even surrender) or just to inspire their troops (morale change)? Of course, since the heroes aren't really generals anymore (they seem like just another type of troop) I'm not sure if either of these would be appropriate. Maybe a duel could be used to distract the top hero from the enemy so that he wouldn't chop his way through your best units. You know, a hero finishes his opponent off only to realize that his entire army has been defeated while he was dueling, and he is now being shot at by several hundred elves.
Also -- can evil heroes cheat?

It's a pretty good idea!
Yeah! Duel would be like discriminations of other races! Like Angels and Devils!
