I can't believe no one has said these yet...
The most annoying thing in a game, for me, is when:
*A mine guarded by "lots" of creatures ends up having over 100 of them.
*Starting castle is boxed-in by very strong wild creatures.
*You run out of time...plain & simple!
*You lose!!!
*My wife starts yelling at me: "Stop playing that damn game"!

You exagerated a bit with this one(lots means max 49 creatures)
Quote:

yes, this is the case when i would call a restart, but my ego is too big for this and usually i mess up so bad in the first week(retreat hero/lose all starting army)that most of the time it's imposible to bounce back.

yea, those green lines are mighty annoying!!

I'm serious tigris...over 100 creatures! I attacked a mine "guarded by lots of Troglodytes" and figured I would beat them without a problem. So, I clicked "Yes" and was horrified to discover 2 stacks of Troglodytes and 2 more stacks of Infernal Troglodytes, with around 25 in each. The horror...the horror...

i'm not that reckless about cyclops, but i do get that in the dwarven treasury, as i want to make easy money so early. I think the dwarves are misleading the most. You think: what can be so hard about lev2's and then there are throngs of them, which will give even to a reasonable army considerable blow. i had my only loss against my friends, precisely because i overrated my rampart army and lost most of it.

Abandoned mines are always guarded by a throng of troglodytes at the start of the game. Means, u will face between 100 and 249 of them. And Val is right here, u will never face 2 upgraded stacks in a "special building", except utopia.

- It would definitely have to be the background noise (gf yelling to get off the computer)
- A distant second may be when a player intentionally leaves (drops) in the middle of a game without any warning.

Having traded everything to get angels week 2 and then seeing time run out the ecsact moment you push the button to build them. (actually happend to me once)
A similar situation is you trade everything only to find out you only have 19975 gold and you miss a stack of resources by one movement.

The one thing that really pisses me off is when u put a considerable number of hours into a game and then opponent drops. And then u dont have time to start another game because u just "wasted" half ur day on a dropper. I feel like kicking those people in the head every time that happens to me
What they have done essentially is have no respect for ur time and effort invested in the game and have literally robbed hours of ur time right out from in front of you. I dont understand people that do this.....they put all those hours of their own time into it and then just drop just like that without saying a word when something goes wrong. All I can think about these players is dont be such a b**ch....at least finish the game u invested ur hours in and if u made a mistake, suck it up, chalk it up to experience, and just finish the game as good as u can.
Its not like they gain anything by dropping...most players would still consider them as having lost that game but then on top of that they have now made u mad, lost ur trust and respect, and have revealed themselves as a dishonorable player.
Ok im done ranting

In my case, I would have to chalk up any mistakes to inexperience!
Like taking on a THRONG of Enchanters with 5 Arch-Devils, 8 Efreet-Sultans, 10 Wyvern-Monarchs, and 3 Spell Points...The horror...the horror!
At least when I drop from a game with someone, I let them know why; and if it was due to a mistake, then I forfeit the game. Someone who drops and then leaves the ZONE like if their house was on fire, simply because they screwed up, should be marked as a "dropper".
It would be nice if there was a way of leaving feedback for players, without having to actually finish a game against them. If ToH or WW started having player ratings for everyone, the system might be abused, but then again...it just might work! Players would know who the "droppers" & the "cheaters" are, before starting a game against them. That would be grand!

In TOH u have such a "player rating". Itīs called "Honor" there. When u look at the players stats, u can see on the top right the Honor raiting (average, poor, high....etc...). You can rate your opponent after every game....

Lmao
It happens all the time that people drop and dont come back. In most cases I believe the problem is bad connections and not people escaping a sure defeat. So really not much you can do about it. My experience says that people with bad latency drops way more often than people with good latency so that could be one thing to look for.

Yes, that is exactly the people im talking about.
Maretti I agree that sometimes it is due to a bad connection but in my oppinion people who know that they have a bad connection and who know their connection tends to drop a lot but then go on the zone and start games with people are still robbing time from other players on the zone if they start a game and then their connection drops during the game and they dont go back to zone and try to finish the game. Its a bad practice, and I know for me personally I would not start a game with these people if I knew they would drop mid-game and not come back. I dont want to waste my time that way. I saw a guy on zone last weekend who had over a 3000ms latency Like 3250ms, something like that. Thats over 3 seconds for every single packet sent! In my oppinion that guy has no business being on the zone, at least not for a game like homm3 that is very long and relies heavily on connection stability for all players. If it was a 3d shooter game like UT 2003 where no one cares if u come or go and dropping has no effect on anyone else than Id say go for it whith that connection (if its possible ) but not for Homm3 where ur connection performance directly effects ur opponents gaming experience.
