A suggestion :)
Hi all
Firstly I’d like to ask: ”wow! How do you actually get time to play hundreds of games in a season? ” Secondly, I’d like to add my hopes for a heroes3 tournament
Since I am not the smartest guy around, I really were proud of getting the idea: why not make a champions league fashion tournament” haha well, actually, I think that would have been fun. Each round lasted one week, which would be the limit the players had to finish their games.
I’d really prefer to have random only games but think there should be a voting period for this. I don’t really think the tournament would function properly with mixed games, coz random specialists usually do suck on fixed maps
The Idea is simple: After the registration, the admin of the tournie would count (hard lol) the number of registrated members, and after that categorize them in levels of skill, based on the toh rankings. There would be set a number of groups (four in each of them) where two of the players in each group would be directly qualified for the group stage. There would be a qualification part of the competition, where the a quarter of the players would fight matches to qualify for the group stage. This would be the lowest ranked players, and also, among them the lowest ranked would fight against the highest ranked. Forefits would mean walkover.
In the group stage, each player would play each other once, and the two highest ranked players would go on to the play off part. This part will be just like an ordinary bracket style tournament.
Also, there may be a bonus for every win in the group stage and playoffs? And also maybe some bonus for qualifying for the group stage and also for qualifying for the play offs (only minor bonuses then of course)
Anyhow, I think that kind of tournament would be fun? Thoughts? I know the activity might be too low for this kind of tournament, but maybe it would raise the activity?
Also, This kind of tournament will need more volunteers with enough time I guess.. I do have plenty
Regards

Titan888 has started such a tourney a year ago or so. It was great fun for those who don't have the time or the non-life to play like addicts. He even spiced it up with building up certain skills that carry over from game to game. Unfortunately he closed it down, but maybe he'll send you the sites.

hmm... I had a back thought that this thing had been done before but still would had been great fun for an alternate toh tournament. With cæsar starting in october, there will still not be any tournament on toh for normal people with a life
I will mail titan then, and see what can be done maybe, if it is no option for toh

I would jump for this tournament idea.... but again being realistic, people wouldn't finish within the deadlines, nor would there be enough people & activity to participate. 8-10 people actively participating in something like this isn't enough.
If anyone remembers the old seasons III & IV, some bracketed tourneys exceeded 100 players.
All these ideas have to wait for the hopeful regeneration by h5.
