I know that with heroes complete that if you go to the map editor and select the artifacts icon and then scroll down to the combos that you can either right or left click on the artifact for details of what you need to make that combo.
I dont know if this works for Sod though.

Note: When all artifacts are equipped they "Vanish" and are replaced by a single artifact representative of all the combined ones. However, the slots previously held do not become available for new artifacts. In addition to the abilities of the combination artifacts, heroes continue to receive all of the bonuses from the individual artifacts.
Once you have found all of the pieces required to assemble a combination artifact, you will automatically be prompted to build it. You can manually assemble or disassemble a combination artifact by right-clicking on any individual artifact or the combination artifact. All artifacts must be equipped to assemble or disassemble.

Well I have to thank you too Ratmonkey since Conan asked the question on my behalf!!!
It was really helpfull but it's too bad that not more maps give you the opportunity to use allot of the combos!!!
I've yet to have one kick a** combo against someone with, let's say with the necro combo's!!!

once i got the armor of damned in week 2 from a shipwreck survivor (or somebody else, don't know the exact word in English version, i mean the one in the water that always gives an artifact), that was a nice surprise

nope, was dungeon i think
but it doesn't really matter for armor of the damned as it doesn't favor any alignment

ok, so when you make the combo artifact, you eqiup the new uber art. but you cant use the other slots for diffrent arts?

You can freely use the free slots, but not those what are locked by the combo artifact.

There is a SoD map (size:XL), you must fight against the Evil Angel. I can't remember the name of that map, but you will find it surely. Your starting heroes are Nightrider and (if I remember correctly) Monere.
So this map contains a lot of combo artifacts! I haven't finished it yet, but I've seen Angelic Alliance, Titan's Thunder, I have the Admiral's Hat, and assembled the Armor of the Damned and the Cloak of the Undead King. I think there will be more..

Er... I don't want you to be disappointed, but I think it's a one-player map. I mean, that lots of the opponents are locked in its castle by border guards and gates. But the editor may help you.

I've been trying to get through all the maps... so I haven't spent allot of time on the random map generator!! I probably should though... The maps are pretty predictable!!
