What happened to the fortress after the reckoning
This was a story that started over at the altar of wishes, better move it before the mods get cranky...

Well, you see, what actually happened was that they were having a large feast when the blades clashed. Then, suddenly, a sudden flash came through the air, followed by fire rain. The earth cracked, and the sky turned all red. All the beast lords ran fast to some portals they found, they were really scared, and that's why so many of them are still found in other hero classes in hommiv. Since they had ran from theyr town, they didn't dare to stay with their old creatures, so they found new ways.
Back at the feast, the witches started collecting all the creatures to get them out. It all went well, until they found out the hydra were going way too slow. They all used all their powers to drag the hydra faster towards the portals, but it all seemed worse and worse. When they finally reached the portals, all the hydra were sent through first, so they could guard the other side in case there were danger there. But the biggest hydra of them all, Blobby the second senior, got really worried. What if the portal sent them to somewhere really dangerous? He didn't want to go, so then, the rest pushed him towards the portal. They were too many for him, he couldn't do any resistance. Now it was really getting dark. When he reached the portal, they found out he rally WAS big. He couldn't get through, but he couldn't get back either. He also blocked the way for the others, and the nearest portal was 10 000 miles away. That's why the fortress creatures didn't get through. Then there came a big blast, first pushing Blobby through, then crushing the portal. The frotress people really got scared.
But then, they thought, what if the explotions soon would stop, and it would be livable again? Because most people had escaped, they would almost have an entire world for themselves. They were all used to living in harshe places.
So, when the chaos stopped on the planet (they found out the prophesy about the swords clashing only was about a temporary disaster), they really were the rulers, and they made a really large capitol. But then, after some years, they found out: A lot of barbarians that didn't go through also was getting along on the planet again!

The fortress creatures decided to make peace with the barbarians, and for a while they lived in harmony. but then a hero who had been lost in the wilderness with a small army (including hydas) attacked the barbarian castle. the barbarians fought back bitterly. in the end the beastmaster had to flee. he returned to his castle, only to find it under seige. he snuck into his castle and helped with the plans to defeat the barbarians. however, the barbarians were to strong, and just when all seemed lost, a giant green dragon, followed by hords of the other dragons that did not make it through, came to the aid of the fortresses. doing so, the barbarians were defeated. After this happy turn of fate, the Fortress people made an alliance with the green Dragons and they soon got used to swampy lands - So the Swamp-Dragon came up (evolution brings up many things). Now the Fortress-people had their Swampdragons and Hydras. It soon was clear that the Dragons were a bit stronger, so the Hydras had to step back in rank of the troops. The Dragons became more snaky then before and they looked a bit like giant Wyverns with arms and the ability to spit fire. But The Golddragons didnt wnat to stay in the Fortress, they turned back to the Forests and cliffs for a life in neutrality. After some research and experimenting with liquids and such stuff, the witches Mirlanda and Verdish discovered that their Swampdragons could evolve into larger beasts called Swampthrashes. They would lose there ability to fly, but their legs strengthen and their cry would be able to scare the heck out of any opponent. Their fire would be of a mysterious blue (remember fortress mageguild) and would be dead-cold, freezing their poor victims. Now they were sure, nothing could stop them!

The fortress people were really prowd of their dragons, and they could live in peace with everybody else still living on the planet, because they were too scared to attack. One day, one of the dragons saw how powerfull they were, and planned together with some other of the dragons how to take over the world. They also got some witches to join them. One night, it was ready, and they first wanted to kill the other dragons to be alone ruling the world. They went around in the town, killing one after one in it's sleep. Then, a lizard man who was up taking a glass of the delishous swamp water, spotted them. Without getting caught, he ran to the witches, telling about it. They got really angry, and went out together in rage, casting a powerfull spell on the dragons and evil witches. It was a spell sending them back in time, too a place far, far away. What they didn't know, was that this other place was the planet the portals had led to. Therefore, the dragons had plenty of time evolving before the reckoning coming and the planet being filled by enrothians. By that time, they had evolved magic resistance, they had grown large and scary, and they had lost the wings. Therefore, when they were first spotted, they were called megadragons.

Now, as the evil Dragons had killed allmost every other Dragon in the Fortress-Territory, the remaining ones went deeper into the forest, so they could dwell and recover - the Hydra again could claim the high rank in the Fortress armys. During the great spell that sent the Dragons bvack in time, by opening a portal that sucked them in, some strange creatures got through. They looked like giant spiders. As they didnt make any attempt of offensive behaviour, Beastmasters Gerwulf and Alkin tried to tame them.

these giant spiders turned out to be evil dark creatures. when the time was right, they attacked. but, to the rescue came the mightiest creature of all time: The azure dragon. They attacked the spiders, and the spiders were wiped out. in the last stand of the spiders, their leader cast the most powerful spell since the clash of the swords. it weakened the azure dragons, and made them long for water. the azures destroyed the last spider, whose name was shub egroeg, and fled to the seas. there they were welcomed by the sea creatures below. meanwhile. the gold dragons were growing board of doing nothing, so they colected help from different races to form large castles known as something (i cant think of anything. sue me). their armies included many devine and beutiful creatures, all of whoom were good. they went around being do - gooders. Meanwhile. The water creatures formed castles called aquariuses. these consisted of mermaids who had been stuck on rocks, hippocampuses, seaserpents, leviathans, sirens, whirlpool wizards, and others. to be continued.

The Swampthrashers and Greendragons had recovered from the Assault and tunred back, so we now had three more or less ne-built civilizations with Dragons. (Will this lead to war?.....) The Strongholdpeople where meanwhile working on better trainingstrategys for their troops as they wanted revenge.
Then one day, while A wich-teacher at a Fortress-School was showing the girls the Dimension-Door Spell, the door showed activity: One heard the sound of a boot and then two men flew through the portal. It was Tazar and Bron. SOmehow their Origin hadnt been welcome in the enw world....
All were happy to have these great heroes back in their ranks [now please change Tazar in my other episode to another BM-name^^ Verdish and Mirlanda being here will be explained, too] When they were welcomed with a great party, the met Verdish adn Mirlanda, who now had high positions in the witches-guilds as they had returned from Axeoth with new, larger magic-knowledge. The two women tol them their story.
They had fled the old land and had decided to have a closer loock ad the knight's life. But when they heard that Hydras had been see sopme time after the arriving of all others, they were sure that the rest was still the Tatalian swamps. So they created a magical portal back and found their Fortresses rebuilt and full of life.
Tazar and Bron told that they had difficultys to get along with the Barbarians in Axeoth - Stronghold and Fortress weren't the ebst friends ever anyways - So somdeday they seemed to have made the tribe-chiefs angry and got booted out through a portal into the, how the Barbarians thought. nowhere. Luckylie they arrived here.

Now we start getting enough civilisations for a new game...
What Tazar and Bron didn't know, was that one of Lysandrer's magicians had telepatical knowledge ower a lot of the teleportations happening. Therefore, Lysander found out that Tazar and Bron had gone back to the old planet, and started thinking about that it was maybe still living people there. Lysander, as the probably last of the Gryphonhearts, therefore wanted the old country Erathia to get back into the rule of the Gryphonhearts. He sent two spies to the old planet, to check if the disaster was over. One of them went right back when he saw that the people had gotten along here again, and the other wanted to check more clairly. When he was walking into the town, however, he was spotted, and had to tell the fortress people about Lysander planning to take the control in the area.

Knowing this, the Fortress people started preparing for a possible war. Now there were two options:
a) not telling the other civilizations about it, what would surely lead to a all against all war
and
b) informing the others and making an alliance. The Barbarians were training gard since the defeat and in the oceans of the old lands, the water-dwellers had trained heroes and troops to save their borders.
The high council of the Wiches and Beastmasters gathered for a solution, the spy was temporarly locked away.

Just go on from where the last post ended...
The Fortress people now wanted to try to get something out of the war. They wanted Lysander to take the other towns by suprise, and then, when Lysander thought he had beaten everybody on the planet, the fortress people would come out of the woods, defeat Lysander and rule the world again. They decided too start hiding their towns, but under the process the spy escaped. Soon, though, he was captured by some of the gold dragons..

Lysander was worried because he feared that his spies would be caught...he was right. To avoid a possible war with the swamp-dwellers, he thought about destroying the remaining portals. But he couldn't do this because his knowledge of magic was limited. He sent a messenger to Solmyr ibn Wali Barad, a good friend of the Gryphonhearts

Unfortunately, Solmyr couldn't do that alone, because the portals were made from life and death astral matter...so he needed a powerful necromancer to help him. So he payed a visit to Nagash...

Nagash was at the time visiting Sandro, who had become a lord. Solmyr hated Sandro, and he knew that Sandro would somehow try to use the situation to gain power, but since Sandro was one of the most powerfull necromancers on the planet, he had to get help from him too. Nagash and Sandro came a little unvillingly with, and they went towards the portals. But then, when they were standing right outside one, a lot of the troops from the new gold dragon town came out and took them as prisoners.

PS: Try to get a little comedy into the story, if not it will grow extremely boring

"Well, well well" Said the gold dragon. "you are attempting to take over the world. that is so mean! what did we ever do to you?"
"It's not what we've done to you, its what we are about to do" said Sandro, and cast a dark magic spell he was teleported to the barren lands where the blades had met. from the ashes of the dead, he called up spirits, skletons, and zombies. thus began the Necopolis. The gold dragons dispatched a consignment of Emelists to find them. however, when the Emelists reached the neropolis, they found that sandro was bringing back terrible feinds. Sandro saw the Emelists, and turned them all to ruzada, all but one small emelist named agapletah, which in the language of light means 'runner' agapleta ran home, and told the legions of light about what had happened. Just as the dragons were about to fly after the ruzada, a messanger of peace from the aquarius's cappitol, delnedir, came to them. she was a water nymph, and was carring a gold cup filled with water. "I have a proposition to make." The nymph said.

The nymph told of her plans, and all the gold dragons were really impressed. First, they sent a little guy to get the armageddons blade from the place. It was as they had hoped, it was still intact. Then, they destroyed all the remaining portals they could find with it. Nagash had joined Sandro, but Solmyr now escaped, and because the gold dragons had stopped him from ever returning, he turned against them, and went to the desert, teaming up with the barbarians.
The next part of the nymph's plan was to use a cooperation between light magic and water magic to crush the undeads. But Sandro had taken the sword of frost, and when the golden people and the water people came, he was stupid enough to slash the sword against the guy who used the armageddons blade...

All froze in panic, as they saw what happend... Well, at least they thought it would happen, nut no blinding flash, no big bang appeared. Just a little *fizz*. That was all. Constipated, Sandro glared at the Sword of Frost, then at Armageddons Blade, then al the grin of the Golden Warrior who carried it. He made a few steps backwords and then teleported away. Allmost instantly all undeads in the area went poof and turned into dust. The Necropolis was beaten - for now.
Sandro somehow re-appeared midst in the tatalian swamps. He liked this creepy place and started to reanimate Lizards, Basilisk and what other Swamp-creature corpses he could find. With this new undead army he started a new necropolis, with uindead swamp-creatures dwelling in it. Then the thought of world-dominating came to his mind again. But first hew ould have to eliminate the Stronghold-people to have a stabile basis to start his war with.
Meanwhile, Solmyr arrived at the Barbarians Capital and told the Barbarian King that he wanbted to ally with them. Luckily for him, somehow all battlemages of the opld Stronghold had stayed in the old world, so he was welcomed. He wated to take revenge at the Golden-Citys.
So now we have the following wars being prepared:
Undead Swampers <-> Fortress (the Fortress doesnt know yet) [as this thread wa smainly about good ol' Fortress, the Player will play Fortress in the first war of our custom campaing^^]
"Magical Fortress" <-> Golden Citys (the Aquatics will surely ally with the Golden ones)

I would indeed be fun if someone could make a campaign for this..
For all this time, the fortress people had hidden themselves, not knowing that Lysander could not any more come to this planet with a large army (at least, he would then need a whole lot of magic). But now, they often noticed undead swamp dragons walking around in the swamp, so they started getting suspicious. One day, they noticed that all the trees in a huge part of the forest were dead. They understtod that there had to be some sort of undeads there, so they sent out a bunch of serpent fly scouts. Only half came back, being chased by undead serpent flies...

The Lizard Archers and Gnolls could fight back the unwanted, undead guests and the remaining Flies told the Beastmasters of a necropolis of Swampf-Dwellers being made by Sandro, the Lich King. He brutally slaughters swam-creatures to resurrect them, they told.
The Tribe-elders sat together with the high council of the Witches to plan the next steps...
