For doom3 players
I'm in the hell level, I gotta kill 2 hell knights and I have 40 health, no rockets or plasma, just a shotgun with plenty of ammo (chaingun seems too slow for these foos). I know 5 shotgun hits at close range will do em, and these creep up fall back method, getting em to swipe instead of shoot is an option, but I lose most of that 40 on the first hellknight.
Any ideas other than cheatcodes?

Hehe mate, ive had this game for 3 moths but I have a rule, never save (Only auto after every level), also I play it only ones a week (( You know to keep the scarry feeling real  )) But im soon finished with veteran. And when i come to Nightmare ile just roll on like a rollercoaster over the monsters. Cause i just love nightmare level on all doom games  so ile help you when i come to the place.

Hey Rychen, I finished d3 just a week ago; that part was pretty tough; all I can say is that I wouldn't be able to do it with the ammo you've got; I'd load an older save and make sure I've got plasma or rockets. Rockets were my choice, you can fire 5 of them in succession then move to the opposite side while reloading and finish off the other hell knight.
Haha... good luck on the boss... about 15 levels later!

Hey Ves, thx for reply...I really hate walkthroughs so was never gonna look at any. The problems I had was rockets. I found the only way to kill the 4 Mancubuses (mancubi? ) earlier in the level was with the rockets, and they take about 4 each...I couldnt kill em any other way, due to the fact that you get trapped and cant run back. I ended up running through them and killing them from the other side (with about 5 health hah). Anyway I'll take your advice and restart the hell level, what I wouldnt give for a BFG, but of course, you lose that when you enter hell.
Anyway its been a month, I go and replay the hell level heh.

LOL damn, now I see what you are talking about! I had collected 500 Plasma Shots, 600 Chaingun ammo, 96 rockets, ..., basically everything near maximum. Wondered how the hell Rychen had managed to waste so much stuff.
Then came the battle against the first two knights, and there it all goes ...
Never found that BFG, by the way. Would have been nice to have in the last fight, I suppose.

The BFG was in Michael Abrahms office, you collect his pda about 3 levels before you actually use the code that was with it to unlock the gun. You can see the BFG through the window so it took me a while to realize I already had the code for the door.

How many times did you completely replay the hell level with the guardian boss at the end?

if you don't spend too much ammo, you will have enough for such occasions

I love the game. I find that the horror element works quite well. I haven't really had any problems with the lighting or anything. That's just me though.

You have to read "behind the lines". Doom 3 was never intended as a "great game", it was intended as a great engine. Just look at some games that followed based on D3 engine.
D3 as a game was boring to say the least. And easy.

Hmm, you could of course increase the brightness of your monitor and it won't be dark anymore, but it will lose its horror aspect as well that way.
Note: I didn't play it myself, but heard & read about it.

@mvass: Try to play it in a dark environment (room). It won't be so dark anymore, and it'll be the way it's meant to be played.
