The Subject of Names!!
I am guessing that we have all faced the problem where our chosen names for this site have already been taken. I have just found out from the membership list that there are more than one 'Drizzits'. I have seen 'Drizz' 'Drizzt' 'Drizzt DoUrden' 'DrizzitDoUrden' and i think it was 'Drizzit001'. This has annoyed me a bit but i guess i have no say in the matter. I am looking to say that the signature at the end of each post i make is 'Drizzit Do'Urden' belongs to me Drizzit, although you can see who the thread is made by.
If you wish to tell me about problems you have had with names then you may if you wish.

"inspired" by trhis I just looked at 'D' in meber-list and saw that there is another Daddy, called 'daddy7'. he registered in July this year and hasnt posted since

What Do You Expect?
Pardon me for saying, but surely you must realize that your name is that of the most popular drow ranger/swordsman dark elf in all Faerun. It was not you who came up with that name to begin with. I think this is not only ok to see others with likely inclinations but should also be expected. Try to remember the kinds of people who would visit these forums and play games of this nature. We're talking about fiction fantasy of the wizards & wiarriors mythical genre. If you think about it, other names, aside from yours would be just as popular. As in the real world one could look in the phone book and see thousands upon thousands of people named "John, Jack, Jim, Thomas, Peter", etc. So too in the line of people who love a good fantasy novel might we see names such as "Merlin, King Arthur, Drizzt, Gwenivere, Percival, Lancelot, Raistlin, Bigby, Astral, Guwain, Baba Yaga, Drawmij, Khelben, Bane, Asmodean, Nystul, Vecna, Elron, Bilbo, Gandalf, Boromir, Mordenkainen, Elminster", etc.
My suggestion is that if you don't like seeing your username being used by other than you then try and come up with a less popular name. If you are afraid your new name might be a popular one that you've never heard of then simply ask either myself or Pandora to confirm whether the name you have come up with is also used among fantasy genre fans. Both she and I have a great and extensive knowledge of this sort of thing and would be more than happy to help you find a usernamer that you can be happy with.

I second what Consis said.
AOL has been the only place that I've ever had trouble with my name. A Google search reveals only one other person using it in a forum (it's also a word in the Urdu language). Originality is pretty convenient.

There's even several Binabik's on the net and not many people even know where that came from. (Tad Williams books)
BTW, the wolf's name is Qantaqa.
Binabik knows a bit of magic. Qantaqa doesn't care.

ive been on quite a few forums and ive never seen another TitaniumAlloy!!
Except once, on the Bioware forum, i made a TitaniumAlloy but then forgot the password straight away so i had to make another, so now i go under a n00bish "max3333"
on that forum i almost always end my posts with

Ha, dat reminds me..
A while ago another Darktitan came on these boards, cept he was pretending to be me, he had my avatar and everything.. even worse everybody thought it was me! of course it wasnt, and eventually the guy just disappeared, but it was really kinda strange..
I thought my name was unique, but obviously not wen i did a google search just now out of curiosity.

Well, if you go for my name's origin, Daddy O, you will find many, I guess (daddy-oh daddy o! daddy-o a.s.o) but if its just daddy, the list shrinks
