Heres the first task, i have this do to tomorrow, and i have the biggest headache known to mankind. first of all i need someone to translate this from danish to english... then i need help with the questions. It's physics.

Quote: This is great! It's nice that people actually wants to help with this idea. Thanks.
This is actually very nice, people from the community, wanting to help without getting anything return(except for a heartfelt thanks)
I think it's more of a case of people wanna brag about what they're good at
Btw, if you need help with any European history, or political science (also some philosophy and economics, but not very advanced; 1st year university at most...) IM me...
Danish is practically just very conservative Norwegian (or vice versa... ), so I'll try to translate Real_deals questions (I haven't had chemistry or physics in 3 years, so bear over with me if the translations isn't too good...):
1. Find the volume of 2,5 kg glycerol.
2. How large is the temperature rise when James adds 8,9 kj to the heat to 65 ml at room temperature?
3. How much heat shall Helle add to a lead weight to heat it from 15 degrees C to 90 degrees C, when the mass of the weight is 500g?
4. Viggo pours ca. half a glas of Coke from the refridgerator (120g, 3 degrees C) into half a glas of Coke from the livingroom (100g, 20degrees C) and stirs. Find the common temperature.
5. The distance from the Moon to Earth can be measured by sending a "laser light" at a reflector on the Moon. The reflector reflects (sic!) and sends it back to Earth (wow, how many pleonasms! ). Laser lights has a velocity of 3*10^8 m/s, and it takes the light 2,56 s to reach the Moon and get back. How long is the distnace from Earth to the Moon?
6. Mary rides her new bike, and its speedometre shows 28 km/h. Mary brakes down, and the velocity changes from 28 km/h to 13,5 km/h in 6 s. Estimate the acceleration of the bike.
7. Paul stands on his hands, his mass is 60 kg, and the total area of his palms are 120cm^2. Estimate Paul's pressure on the floor.
8. A lovely warm summers day, the temperature is 26 degrees C. The relative air moisture is 35%. Estimate how much "water steam" each m^3 contains.
I hope that was a good translation...

I have a vague idea, but I don't think I would have been able to solve ny of these problems...
I used to be good at it though. Nearly got an A in Chemistry, Biology and Physics in the Norwegian equivalent of 1st year Senior High School...

realdeal, aren't you from denmark? then why didn't you translate it yourself, or did you fear that your Danish isn't good enough?

These are fairly easy problems, but solving someone’s homework was not what I had in mind when I offered my help. If you need help clarifying something, or you don’t understand something in particular, ask me and I will gladly explain it to you. But I wont do your work next time.
I used the standard letters and measurements found in physics. Still, if there’s anything you can’t decipher, feel free to ask.
1. You need the density of glycerol (a threehydroxylic alcohole) here. It should be given in the problem, but if it’s not I assume it’s close to water (1000kg/m^3).
Since d (density)=m/V then V=m/d=(2,5kg)/(1000kg/m^3)= 0,0025m^3 = 2,5 dm^3.
2. Unclear translation. 65 ml of what? I saw in the danish version, it says glycerol, so unless there’s another error in the translation the solution would be:
Q=8,9kJ; V=65ml=0.65dm^3; C and d (of glycerol) should be given
Q (amount of heat) = c (heat capacity)*m*T
T=Q/(c*m)
M=d (density of glycerol)*V
So, T=Q/(c*d*V), then place the exact values, but be careful to place the exact value for the volume - meters cubic or decimeters cubic, which depends on the unit for c.
3. T1=15 C
T2=90 C
M=500g=0.5kg
C (lead) should be given (read from a table)
Q=?
Q=c (lead)*m*(T2-T1)
4. Assuming there are no temperature losses to the environment, we have:
m1=120g=0.12kg; m2=100g=0.1kg; T1=3 C; T2=20 C
Best is if you calculate for each of the “parts of Coke” seperately.
Q=c*m1*(T-T1) (heat transmitted)
Q=c*m2*(T2-T) (heat absorbed)
The heat transmitted is actually the one absorbed by the other part, so:
M1*(T-T1)=m2*(T2-T)
M1*T-m1*T1=m2*T2-m2*T
T(m1+m2)=m1*T1+m2*T2
T=(m1*T1+m2*T2)/(m1+m2)
5. c=3*10^8m/s
t=2.56s
d=?
l=2d (since the laser travels the moon-earth distance twise)
l=c*t
thus, 2d=c*t
d=c*t/2
6. v1=28km/h=28000m/3600s=7.7 m/s
v2=13,5 km/h=13500m/3600s=3.75 m/s
t=6s
a=?
a=(v2-v1)/t
You get a negative value, meaning the acceleration is braking.
7. m=60kg
S=120cm^2=(120/10^4) m^2= 0.012 m^2
P=m/S=60kg/0.012m^2=5000 Pa
8. T=26 C; x=35%; V=1m^3=1000dm^3; m=?
Since atmospheric P is normal, and T is normal (26 C), then the proportion V/n for all gases is 22,4 dm^3/mol.
V/n=22,4dm^3/mol
N=1000dm^3/(22,4 dm^3/mol)=44,6 mol
The x (moisture) given is most probably a molar ratio, so:
n(H2O)=x*N=35%*44,6 mol.=15,6 mol
m(H2O)=Mm(molar mass of H2O)*n(H2O)
Mm=(2*1+16)g/mol=18g/mol
M(H2O)=18g/mol*15,6 mol=279 g (in 1m^3)

Agreed with Svarog here, I think its a great idea for people to share knowledge and help either other out - but getting someone to do your homework? That's no good, you'll get more from your education if you do it yourself.
