a weird observation yesterday
Yesterday my wife and me played as team against a team of six AI-controlled opponents, when something weird happened, what I haven't seen in all the years of HoMM3 playing. My wife's main hero attacked with his troops a stack of medusa queens, which was split into two. The phoenixes had the first turn and attacked the first group of medusas, killing all but one. Its retaliation stoned the phoenixes *AND* the petrified birds got a bonus attack due to morale, or, as my little son uses to say, they got gold above their heads. This happened so fast, that my wife didn't even notice it, but the message window affirmed my observation.
What to do to enable the second attack of the phoenixes? The action token was already at the magic elementals (highlighted). In the hero's spellbook, there was the little Cure spell, but would it allow the bonus attack and when?

Immediately after the cure spell was casted, the action token switched back to the phoenixes and they got their second attack.

Actually, if this is correct, this is something Ive never thought of, which could had saved my ass in them damn medusa stores a couple times

That is a bug. It has happened to me a few times. They canīt attack if they are stoned, but if the medusas wouldnīt stone them, the Phoenixes could attack again.

I tested this and it does work.
If you attack the Medusa Queen and get petrified, then moral, then cast cure, you will get your extra attack.
Cure does not have to be cast the first chance you get. And the petrified stack got back in line for attack order instead of waiting till end of round.
With all stacks same speed.
Stack 4 got petrified and moraled.
Stack 5 defends.
Cast mass cure on stack 6 turn.
Stack 6 attacks.
Next turn stack 4 got it's 2nd attack.
Then stack 7 turn.
I used Homm Complete for tests.
