How to set up an account and play on the Zone?
Speaking of noobs can you(i mean Angelito, Sir_Stiven, erc.) tell a noob how to play on the zone?
Some time ago i tried but when i finished the registration and started the small program my id was _32167_ and i could do nothing. What should i do?
Can you please post a complete "tutorial" starting with "Open your browser..." to "Press begin to start the game"?
I'll be very gratefull if you do so. I think there is no such explanation around, is there?

If I can add a question here... (and yes I know, check previous threads... I'm not computer literate enough to even know what I'm looking for)
does anyone know if you can get a no cd patch that will allow you to play on the zone??? Or do you necessarily need an original game??

OK...small guide to "How do i enter the zone exactly"..
1. Go to The Zone
2. Register (get an account)
3. Sign in
4. Click on "CD-Rom" (TOP row...to the right)
5. Click on "Heroes of might and magic" in the upcoming gameslist
6. Click again on "Heroes....." on the smaller upcoming gamelist
7. Zone will load "zone friends" automatically (which will make u able to send "zone messages" to online users)
8. You will enter the zone automatically
9. Look at the very right side to see the whole playerslist
10. Ask people to get a game with them.
11. Register for a tourney to get a game easier
12. Look and read that thread Online Problems if u have any problems joining a game.
13. Look out for some known HC members, they can help u as well..

Perhaps i donīt understand you clearly...
Have u entered the zone and have u seen those 51 rooms (teal or gold colored) on the top and the chat room at the bottom and the playerslist on the very right?
If not....
When u have registered, u have a password.
So when u enter the "www.zone.msn.com", u have to "Sign in". U do that with your registered Email-Adress and your password.
When the systems accepts your sign-in, u can click the "heroes......" as i mentioned before.
So please describe at what point u donīt seem to get any further....

Yes, i entered the program with all the players and games. But as i said before my nick is _32167_. I was never asked for nick or password. I only entered my hotmail name once.

angelito, you said in another thread that on the zone only version 2.2,3.2 and 4.0 can be played. i wonder is version 3.2.0.0 ok too?

Weird thing I saw here the other day (with my version of homm) were that I can both host and join games without the cd. I'll get the no cd in cd room thingy, press ok and then just new game, voila, works

so it will work!? i had great troubles downloading the patches and now i have this version wich i hope i can use. also tryied to play AB on tcp/ip and got the msg"cannot create ramdom map in data directory".hope i'll see you soon on the zone!!!!!

err.. sorry for reviveing this 2 year old thread, but i signed into the zone and went to cd-rom and i cant seem to find HOMM on the list, infact theres only like 15 games. Am i doing something wrong or does no one play on the zone anymore? if so where do i go...
Plz help me.

Heroes 3 Room on the zone has been closed in january this year.
Only way to play H3 online besides TCP/IP is Gamespy.
Look for the sticky thread "How can i solve my online probems...." here in the library. There u will find all answers u need to play there.

i dont like gamespy; the ad-supported version is bad and i dont think anyone should have to pay to play heroes.
people should take advantage of the TCP/IP feature, it really is the best way to play.

regarding gamespy arcade,
i tried going to 4 different heroes 3 chatrooms and i didn't see any members in them.
i dont like having a bulky program like gamespy just to play heroes; also i dont trust ad-supported software in general.
it would be more logical to have a central forum for people to meet that just want to play for fun.
personally i think a forum is the best solution because nobody needs to download anything, such as an irc program, or rely on external software like gamespy. to play heroes the only software you need to use is heroes. i just think it would be much easier and reliable if everyone would just do ip games.

Gamespy works since years without any problems for the users there. Zone installed software on your comp aswell and nobody had a problem with that. And i never had a moment on gamespy this year, where NONE was present in Heroes3 room, so i donīt know where u have been on your try.
Itīs ok if u dislike gamespy, coz everyone can have his own opinion, but donīt make it bad in general, coz it works fine for all of the current online players...
