My little proposal
Allright, I suggest a simple system for Heroes V.
A good mix of new and old.
The most logical solution would be to have good, neutral, and evil might, and good, neutral, and evil magic towns.
Good might: Knight/Castle/Haven, with about the same creatures as in HoMM 3.
Good magic: Sorceress/Rampart/Preserve, with the same creatures as in HoMM 2. Reintroduce the druid!
Neutral might: Barbarian/Stronghold, same creatures as in HoMM 4
Neutral magic: Wizard/Tower/Academy, the most logical creature choice would IMO be the HoMM 3 line-up.
Evil might: Warlock/Asylum, about the same creatures, just without the magic.
Evil magic: Necropolis. The one and only! A mixture of HoMM 2/3/4 necropolises.
The MM6 magic system should be put to use. Necropolis would have no light magic and Sorceress would have no dark magic. The other schools of magic should be distributed in some way, I don't know how, though.
The upgrade system should work like in HoMM 2: 0-2 upgrades per creature, upgrade cost is double the difference in price between non-upgraded and upgraded, and upgrades should take time. There should also be a town building system like in HoMM 4, but not only dwellings.
Each hero race should have unique bonuses, and ALL map objects from previous games should be reintroduced, plus a couple of new ones.
Oh, and bring back the war machines!
