Having a technical problem

Well I just updated my HoMM SoD to the latest version.

Im trying to play with the same friend we used to play before updating (We both had HoMM SoD unupdated). We did TCP/IP and we did it without any problems at all.
Now that we both updated the game, it takes ages to load the map. I enter his game and have to wait like 5 or 10 minutes to even choose castle type, and hero.

Anyone has any idea? Thanks a lot ^_^

We both have Win XP, if that helps

Try delete some of the maps in your map directory.Instead of having 50 maps when your game openes, try keeping only 5 or so(keep them in a separate directory). This way when a tcp/ip package is sent to the other player it won't carry so much information, thus speeding up your connection. This worked fine for me as i had the same trouble(i didn't had to wait 5-10 minutes though ).
