Slow H3
I Recently decided to try gamin' on the zone with some other ppl instead of beating that lame AI. I reinstalled my Heroes 3 Complete to get rid of any WOG-files and other useless files (not that WOG is useless, just too buggy for me) I Dloaded the setupreg.exe and to my great joy it worked. I then -after several hours on the zone- decide to battle the AI one last time. I start a medium difficulty Free For All game. The load time is like 3 minutes or so and the game is in general VERY slow. Whenever i build a building it takes 7-8 sec. for it to "get ready" and about 10 seconds before the cursor will reappear on the screen. Whenever a creature is going to take a move on the battlescreen it takes 5-7 sec. before the damage and casualties is calculated. I have tried everything to speed things up. Closing messenger, Norton and my firewall also any other applications that i dont need to run Heroes but no result. I have reinstalled my Heroes 3 Complete several times on alot of different machines but its the first time this have happende to me. I would gladly appreciate any help on this subject.
If its to any help my system is as following.
Im running Windows XP Service Pack 2 on a Packard Bell Laptop
Athlon XP-M 2500+
SIS 740 with onboard shared 32MB Graphicschip
Before i Reinstalled i was running WOG 3.58 with some of Sagamosas Scripts(Highly Recomendable) and some of Gangrails custom hero portraits.
Thanks for helping me out.

I'm no techie, but...
Have you tried some basic measures like running Disk Defrag or Scandisk? I used to have various problems in the past and I've always been told to try these first. It's about all the clutter that builds up when you install a lot of stuff and your system might require a cleaning scan to remedy it. Don't know if it'll help much in your case, but any results you get could be a start. And I think defrag/scandisk are relatively harmless programs to run in the worst situations.

i think setupreg changed your battle speed settings.. there is a setting for how fast the creatures move on the battle field that is stored in the registry and i think setupreg changes that to the default slow when you run that... i would just go into a battle and change back your settings to have the creatures move faster...hope this helps..--ave
