Weekly library question____10_05
Name the smallest possible amount of creatures (belonging to the SAME town) a hero can have on the battlefield, which have 666 hitpoints in summary.
Name a solution for version 1.4 and a solution for 3.2 (if it is different from the other).
Hint: Everything which is not excluded could be included...

For version 1.4 I don't see a way with only 2 creatures since the maximum health is 304 with all health artifacts.
So a solution for 3 could be 2 Ancient Behemoths and a Roc (or Thunderbird) with an artifact of +2 health or the 2 health rings. 2 x 302 and 1 x 62 = 666.
For SoD we can have a combo artifact but still 2 seems unlikely unless we consider a creature could be injured on the battlefield and then there are several possibilities with 300 basic hp creatures. With combo artifact it gives 379 hp. If one creature received 92 damage the total is 666 for 2 creatures.
Of course, neutral creatures are not considered belonging to a town .
edit: sorry if I repeat some things of the post above, I had the window open and didn't see a new post was added in the meantime.

I would say that no creatures are needed for 666 HP on battlefield. But if we exclude war machines then 3 creatures with version 1.4 and 2 with SoD. EDIT: If neutral dragons count then 1 with Sod.

There is something almost too perfect to be true : The war machines with SoD are not affected by the combo artifact but by their elements only. So they gain only +4 hp. That gives 437 hp. We need 229 hp which is exactly the hp of a green or red dragon with the combo health artifact elixir of life.
With version 1.4 we can take 2 giants and the ballista and ammno cart with all health artifacts: 154+ 154+ 254+ 104 = 666.
So if war machines hp are taken in consideration one creature is needed with SoD and 2 with 1.4.
Edit: Pitsu, how do you do without creatures and allowing war machines? A catapult only has no time to be damaged to have only 666 hp for ex since the fight is over when it begins (even with ballistic skill). I can only imagine having the ballistic skill allowing to cast summon elemental and waiting till the elementals and the original creatures are dead and the catapult is wounded to 666 (maybe with the help of stacks of single peasants in defending town).
Edit2: With summonning and artifact hp+2 we can have 18 fire elementals :666 total hp with no war machines and original creature is dead (thus 0 creatures in battlefield) or a single creature needed otherwise (if dead creatures are counted).
Maybe some clarification is needed if the 666 have to belong exclusively to the creatures or not.

Ok...i see i have to think about the questions more, especialy about the ideas which could come in your minds...
1. We talk about creatures...NO warmachines
2. We talk about the start of a battle, so no damage has happened already.

"Name the smallest possible amount of creatures (belonging to the SAME town) a hero can have on the battlefield, which have 666 hitpoints in summary."
Does a creature hired in a town belong to that town in your mind? If yes, there is a possibility with the portal of summonning in the Dungeon. A faerie dragon + a behemoth and the +2hp and + 1 hp artifacts: 503 + 163 =666 hp . That's for 3.2, for 1.4 I don't see less than 3 for now. Or maybe I'm going too far?

Hmmmm.
If you had a Faerie Dragon from the Portal of Summoning and an Evil Eye, you'd have 522 HP. Add on the elixir of life, and the FD goes to 629 (500x1.25 + 4). The EE will have 31 HP (22x1.25 + 4). That's 660. If you add on three more vials of lifeblood, you'll get 666.

Nice idea...except the final facts....if u add 3 more vial of lifeblood, which give 2 more hitpoints, u will have 672 hitpoints....coz fairies AND evil eyes will get those 6 hp.....

Oops. You're right. Back to the drawing board.
EDIT: Take a Harpy Hag instead. With the Elixir, it goes to 21.
629 + 21 = 650. Take 4 Vials and you have 4x2x2=16 more HP.
The magical 666.

The vials don't add to the elixir of life in my experience. Do you have a savegame where it's possible?
If portal of summonning is allowed nothing prevents from using summoning from 2 different weeks so no need to use elixir of life.

Nice ideea indead...except for the fact that the Vial of Lifeblood doesn't work cumulative. So if you have 4 lifebloods, they will only give +2 HP;also if added to elixir of life, it does not give additional HPs eighter
I agree with Pacifist's solution for 1.4:i think that 3 is the minimum critter number(boosted with +3 health each)but the possibilities are multiple, basicaly 2 critters with 300 hp(AB,Titan,BD) and one with 60 HP
For SoD, i was thinking of something like that:
week ot the titan(all titans receive +50% hp)and all you need is a titan and a naga queen with 1 ring and the vial.
Titan has 450 hp now+110 Hp of the naga+2*3=666
@funny edit: for H2 you'll need at least 4 monsters:
one of the possibilities is:
2 titans(300HP), 1 crusader(65HP) and 1 peasant(1hp)

I think Tigris speaks of WoG. But then, there is also the stack experience and the lord's banners that can add to health and only one creature is possible. Since Angelito spoke of versions 1.4 and 3.2 I suppose WoG is excluded since it's version 3.5 and up. Nice try though .

Hmmm...and how many different units do exist which have 60 hitpoints? (and are from same town as the 300hp creature!)

true enough, neighter tower nor dungeon has one, that only leaves us with the t-birds and ogre magi (only critters in the game with 60 hp)
