Welcome to the Wastelands! (read before posting)
If you have some SPAM in your system that you just need to unleash – this is the place for you! This is also a perfect thread for introducing yourself and getting to know other members.
Rules:
1) Follow the Heroes Community guidelines as told in the FAQ, make sure you have read and understood the COC before posting.
2) Threads will be deleted after they have been inactive for one week, as well as any threads beyond page two are subject to deletion.
3) Threads which will break COC will be penalized and deleted. Remember that while the post may disappear, the penalty will stay with you.
4) Threads will be closed when they have 500 posts. After a week they will be deleted. Members are free to recreate those threads if they so choose.
5) Threads may be moved to other forums if requested by other members - or if the moderators see fit.
6) Threads abusing any glitches found in HC will be penalized, if you spot a glitch please report it in the Turban Tribunal.
7) Threads which are created simply to be an eyesore or cause significant lag for members trying to view them will be penalized. This includes - massive quoting, filling the posting box with smilies / bb code, and stretching posts with either long strings of text or enormous photos.
If you feel a thread had real value and should not be deleted, please ask me about it and we'll see if it can be moved elsewhere.
The Wastelands are also a place where old threads come to die. From time to time moderators from other forums will move threads here to give them a last chance before they are removed. If you see one of these old threads, and feel that they still have some value – or may make for interesting reading for future members , please let us know here.

When an old thread is moved in to the Wastelands, it will be noted here so you may check from time to time to see if there’s anything to look into.

Update 1/12/2012:
Just because this is a spam forum, doesn't mean anything goes. Threads which glorify rape or violence, depict pornography, or are otherwise judged by the moderators to violate a reasonable minimum level of decency will be deleted without warning, and appropriate penalties/silences applied.

Why make threads be auto-deleted? WOudn't you like that we have an endless Wastelands archives? I see many threads with interesting things here.
THe space that plain text occpies on hard drives isn't enough these day to warrant deletion. A 1 TB hard drive could probably contain over a thousand years of Volcanic Wastelands!

It's not automatic, moderator -here Corribus- deletes them manually, a lot of awesome gems have been nuked, but also tons of junk. I wonder too what would be the problem with having huge wastelands.

I think the wasteland was always meant to be where waste goes, it even explicitly says in the rules that it's a place for spam.
That there may have been silly threads which turned great, but were never moved or great threads that should never have been in the wasteland to begin with can be due to various reasons.
E.g. perhaps the community didn't ask a moderator to move it (or it was even insisted on it shouldn't be), perhaps a moderator disagreed that the thread was good enough to be moved, etc.
My view of things are that many of the wasteland threads could probably have been really good tavern threads in stead, but while the OSM vs. wasteland distinction is clear, it's not that clear exactly what a tavern thread is.
I imagine OSM threads started in the wasteland is mainly if someone feels a moderator unfairly removes his threads to the wasteland like frostyS expressed or if someone wish to reach a broader part of the community with their threads (a few years ago it was very different people who frequented the VW compared to the OSM).

what if there are many very early threads in the tavern that are actually vw material, and to be deleted? would that be doable? if we're worried about room, that is. because a lot of the early stuff is just... poo. vw material, without question.

You'd have to ask the Tavern moderators that. I did it for the OSM but it was a helluva lot of work, and I had a lot more energy back then. You guys have sucked the life out of me over the years.

are deleting threads the same as deleting posts? is it just a one-click thing? because i'm sure the tavern mods could get help rounding up the early threads that don't belong in the tavern. i'd help with it, if no one else.

Shyranis had planned to do go on the same mission as Corribus and even made a thread readying for the purge, sadly she went inactive and I am not really sure what happened.
