HOMM1 Map Editor

I can get HOMM1 to play fine on XP, but I can't get the map editor to work.  Any ideas?

I don't really know, but you can't run HoMM1 and the Map Editor at the same time.

Thanks for the info.  I am not trying to run them at the same time.  Whenever I click on the map editor icon, the error report dialog box comes up.  If it helps, I am running Windows XP professional.
