Well one of the things i like so much about WoG is that previously all but useless spells can now be game winners.
Consider for example the enhanced sorcery skill that allows you to get more gold/exp from chests. Add to this the option that lets you get more gold/exp from standard chests.
Then finally add to these 2 a paladin commander who gets 150% of your hero exp.
You get the picture i am sure. Massive early levelling up = early suprise attack. Normally expert players will only take gold from chests, but a combination like this makes other strategies worth trying.

These skills wouldn't lead you too far. Switch the suckies, Learning and Eagle Eye, for Armorer and Tactics, and because Diplomacy is rarely allowed you should replace it with Offense.
