Weekly library question_____week 17_05
Here we go again....
Something weird happened to our old Crag Hack in his fight yesterday. He is well known as fighter and not as spellcaster, so he decided to go into his last fight without a spellbook. He won the fight easily, lastet only 1 round. But what the heck? He went into that fight with 10 spellpoints, but after the fight, he only had 7 left....how could that be?
All versions count....

Well, I would say that ol' Craggy's army fought an army that had Wraiths (Wights? forget which's which allways^^) in it. They drained spellpoints from him in this one round.

One wraith stack drains two spell points, while Crag lost 3. The only other mana draining creature that I remember is the familiar.

Exactly, wraith drain 2 points....thatīs why i have chosen THREE.....

Enemy had 2 stacks of wraiths and used lvl1 spell with cost of 5 spell points. Crag had some familiars with him and drained 20% of spell points used by enemy against him.

Solution 1) Crag Hag had wraiths and the opponent hero also had wraiths. Crag's wraiths drained 1 spell point from enemy hero, because it was his last one. (10 + 1 = 11) Then the enemy hero attacked and killed Crag's wraiths. Then the enemy wraiths drained 4 sp from Crag. (They were in 2 different stacks.) 11 - 4 = 7. Then Crag killed his enemies and won.
Solution 2) If all versions are allowed, the opposing hero had Advanced Mysticism, which reduces enemy spell points to 70% of maximum with a tiny script in Wog.
This is what I could think of.

lol wights don't give spell points to the hero
my solution is easier:
facing an enemy hero
hack had to fight an enemy scout armed with a "wright bomb" 2 slots of vrights
that sucker casted slow on hack's raiders,and hacks imps (whom he got from a refugee camp) replenished his mana with 1 point drained from the oponent.
then he just killed the scout, but lost 3 sp.
someone can recreate the scenario if hack attacks some wondering monsters?(no enemy hero involved)

Oooops...i forgot to mention....Opponent hero hasnīt got a spellbook either....
Edit: With all versions i mean all official versions....RoE, AB, SoD, Complete....nothing else...

He didn't have a spell book, but he casted slow with expert earth magic from a scrollwith Magi's assistance. Slow cost 3 spell points. (At least I think this can happen in 3.0...)

Yes you can, in some versions: if you click on the hero on the battlefield - not the spellbook, the hero - then you can cast them from scrolls or tomes, I think. Some patches fix this, though.

You CANT cast spells from scroll unless you have a spellbook
You CAN however cast spells from tomes without a spell book

is this it?
hack has advanced intelligence and enters the battle. the enemy has 4 wraiths. 8 spell points are drained and hack wins with 7 spell pionts left.

Intelligence doesn't influence this in any way either since it is clearly stated that at the beginning of the battle Crag had 10 spell points, and Intelligence cannot change that
So it's familiars. But how, I won't bother thinking

hehe them pesky familiars don't drain any spell points when ogre magi cast bloodlust nor when t-birds cast lightning.There must be something else
