Quote: Wright also accuse US government of manking AIDS to kill blacks.
So does Kanye West... every person at a Kanye west concert is a racist
How about:
"I hate the gooks, I will hate them for as long as I live."
-John McCain
Quote: Please, if you condemn Palin for "mission from God" you must condemn Obamaa for "instrument of God" if you wish consistancy in your statemlents. It is quite easy to condemn someone who you have political disagreement with and yet favorite candidate do same thing without condemnation is it not?
Obama is not starting any holy wars.
Obama does not support wars that throw billions of money from a broke nation down a hole when the nation can't even support itself.
You can't really compare the religious nature of the Democrats with the Republicans.
If someone tells me it is a mission from God to eat their lunch every day or whatever then I don't really care.
If someone tells me it is a mission from God to go into someone's house and bomb the hell out of it, then I have a problem.
Quote: And please do not imply US is killing random Iraqi.
I didn't.
Besides you go on about how the Iraq government wants America there, but Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki claims that civilian attacks by US troops are "a daily phenomenon", as with just about every war.
Quote:
He did not randomly condemn Ayers. Only after "heat" was on him did he condemn Ayers actions...after close association with him for many years.
This is same with his pastor Wright. Only after "heat" was on him did he condemn him after sitting in his church 20 years.
I know, and why should he, if it hadn't been brought up?
Does he need to stand up and say that he doesn't molest children or still from orphans too?

Everything was fairly normal during President Bush's first term. It wasn't until the attacks that everything changed. That was real change; Not feel-good nonsense that only serves to convince fools to vote.

Oh yeah, that's a good idea. The government really isn't known for its smooth operating efficiency. It's contradictory to its creedo: Keep fixing it until it breaks.
Getting violent. I'm not posting this link for the actual story; I like the comments section. It's so delightfully vicious.

Well honestly in a way it turns out America is socialist. It is capitalist socialism, but socialist all the same. The 'rich' get to keep all their profit, but their losses are going to be socialized. As for the next president, I am afraid Omega is correct. Lots of smoke and mirrors, but the president doesn't have a quarter of the power that these two are promising. They can promise us each trips to the land of milk and honey, but sadly they can not deliver. It is between bad and worse, and I am not sure which is which.
Lately I am thinking of just tossing a coin. Heads vote for Obama, Tails McCain. Let chance decide who the heck to vote for. The Obama campain still has a bit of an edge, because McCain's adds have pretty much been mostly (if not all) negative and Obama's at least has a few more that are not.

It's pathetic. The government (rightly) leaves these companies alone when they're growing, but when they're in trouble, it rushes to save them. Capitalism on the way up, socialism on the way down. Why can't anyone in the government just say, "Let them fall."?

And let capitalism work the way it should?! Totally ridiculous! We can't let those big companies fail, as it would ruin the economy! We as taxpayers need to understand that our money doesn't matter and we shouldn't mind forking over lots and lots of our own money to make sure these rich people, who gambled and lost, can afford to put food on their tables. Their huge bonuses are simply not enough to keep them alive.

Let them fail? Congressmen have to look after their own interests. It'd be a shame if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and others lost money because of a bank going under. It's ok if it happens to ordinary citizens, but not if it happens to politicians.

APB for the Gootch
Excuse my inappropriate interloper call for an all-points-bulletin for the Gootch.
GOOTCH: Hello sweet, I apparently left my Rolodex card with your number on it on the back porch (with which you are intimately familiar, as well as my front porch, as well as my feet, hands, stomach, scalp, etc.) the last time I tried to call you. You know how windy it gets sometimes in Colorado.
Assuming this unfortunate misplacemenet is not some sort of gift to you (given that I am inclined to call you in the wee hours of the morning), then I would really appreciate it if you would call me and let me reconstruct your rolodex card.
Who knows, we might still just win this thing...
Once again, sorry for intruding here, it's just that this is Gootch's most frequented thread lately and I need to get in touch.
If you need it, my cell number is 809-3895 (you know how to look up the entire area code. If I don't hear from you then I will figure the love affair has truly ended...)

That's not a surprise really. The Republicans left Powell out to dry and his concerns are valid. The party needs to be more moderate if it plans to compete with the Democrats.

McCain was speaking of guards who tortured him for 5 years, so you take words out of context.
Obama for 20 years sat under racist pastor and have said racist things himself.
Quote: Obama is not starting any holy wars.
The US did not start a holy war. That is very much misrepresentation of the war.
Quote: Obama does not support wars that throw billions of money from a broke nation down a hole when the nation can't even support itself.
Almost all democrats voted for war. If Obama had been in Senate at the time he would have too.
Quote: You can't really compare the religious nature of the Democrats with the Republicans.
Elaborabe please. I have no idea what you try to insinuate here.
Quote: If someone tells me it is a mission from God to go into someone's house and bomb the hell out of it, then I have a problem.
Again you misrepresent what Palin said. And ignore Obama saying he is praying to be "insturment of God."
Quote: Besides you go on about how the Iraq government wants America there, but Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki claims that civilian attacks by US troops are "a daily phenomenon", as with just about every war.
I do not know what Prime Minister claim but I know it is not US practice to attack citizens. And you claim you do this in just about every war which is another untrue statement.
Quote: I know, and why should he, if it hadn't been brought up?
Because he worked close with Ayers and Ayers donated money to him and Ayers held initial meeting to start Obama in politics. And in 2001 Ayers say he is not sorry for bombings and wish he had done more. He also say he would not rule out more bombings in future.

Both McCain and Obama are part of the same megaparty that has taken over the U.S. Neither of these candidates are much different from one another and both of them have completely failed in addressing the major issues that will inevitably lead to the collapse of the U.S., which will cause shockwaves through the rest of the world as well. Instead they have enthralled themselves to corporatism (which is neither socialistic nor capitalistic). They have failed to address the obscenely massive deficit, and both have endorsed the failed policy of central planning by artificially pumping money into the system to keep the stock market alive. This is causing the debasement of the EURO, the Pound, and the Dollar which will lead to an even greater financial crisis down the road. The reality is, a person high on drugs has to crash at some point in time. None of the other issues, which are minor in comparison, such as taxes, Iraq, etc... matter next to these. Besides, the mere fact that we have spent countless dollars frolicking around the Middle East is a testament to the fact that Al Qaeda has won, because we've done exactly what they wanted us to do. Both candidates are straining out gnats and yet swallowing camels. We're at the point where we are taking loans in order to pay the interest of our loans.
Anyway, that's my optimistic and uplifting input concerning the elections . In conclusion, I care very little whether Obama or McCain wins.
