*** Laelth's New Map: Bankruptcy ***
Laelth proudly announces ...
Bankruptcy
You borrowed a million gold from the Bank of Aziril. Now that you've blown most of the money on bad investments, the bank is demanding immediate repayment ... or else.
Here's part of the readme file:

Bankruptcy is a fast-paced, randomized-layout Heroes IV map. In version 1.1, 20 possible layouts (called "variants") are included, and more may be added later. You have only 30 days to build your army. Gates into enemy territory open on day 31 (day 3, month 2).
Bankruptcy is, of course, available for immediate download at Laelths HOMMaps. It should also be available on the ToH Maps Page soon.
Here's what to do:
The hero guarded by the Phoenix is of your home alignment, and comes with some scouting skills ... unless you're chaos-aligned, in which case the hero has tactics.
Your heroes will be particularly strong against this angel. After all, you're broke, and you're desperate.
There are 6 towns on each side of the map. There's a 50-50 chance that a town will be blocked off and unaccessible in any given game. You and your opponent will have access to the same number of towns, however, and you both have the same variant, i.e. the paths around the map will be the same.
Both players have access to at least one linked town.
One underground area has only a 50% chance of being accessible in each game. If it's accessible to one player, then it's accessible to both. If this area is open, the map is a little richer and takes a little more time to clear. If this area is closed, you have just enough time (depending on the variant) to clear your side before the gates open. Note that there are two relics on each side of the map. They are guarded by powerful armies. If these relics are not picked up before day 32, the Bank of Aziril will seize them.

lol. that's ok, insa. i wouldn't marry you either because i don't like drinking turpentine (retsina). 
as for the bank ... there's no way to accumulate a million gold in 30 days, so you can't pay back the bank. on day 31 the bank "seizes your assets." starting on day 31, and for every day thereafter, on each player's turn the game runs a script that deducts 999,999 gold, 999 wood, 999 ore, 999 crystal, 999 gems, 999 mercury, and 999 sulphur. as such, you start each new turn with no money and no resources.
now, that said, there are some tricky ways you might be able to hire one or two more lvl. 4 creatures (hitting creature banks after they regenerate), but, for the most part, all your army building is done by day 30.
this map is designed to support a 4 hero army with heroes between 14th and 16th lvls.

lol. perhaps, but there's only so much exp. available on the map, valky ... even for you.
oh, one more thing ...
for that extra splash of non-alignment magic, a hero can acquire master level in any of the five schools of magic if he or she gives 30 crystal to the mushroom people here.
of course, there are some sea monsters that must be defeated first.

o.k
_very cute like most laelth maps
_gates go boom very late(so i ll play it only this once)
_i like has hard start, but bit boring(too much walkies for notin till get boot)
so much we did, with abu, around 19 days.
_mine fights could be interesting too.. ,ay lengthen game time, but is all for pleasure
Now go play NewPollution and cut the crap

off topic a little....
the only people i know who could endure new pollution are Zud and Gagatek
and Zud has dissapeared from the face of this earth, almost like the Mayans dissapeared thousands of eyars ago

insa,
i think you're describing the wrong map. abu says you and he have a save on ZmineZ. that's a long map. in version 1.3 gates open day 40. but bankruptcy is a fast map (for me). in version 1.2 gates open day 31.
and new pollution is really confusing, but should make for a very interesting game.

ah yes i mean ZZ- no worry is only my mind started melting
.. though tried bank till end with gag too
balco, that bug is noting among 'clean' players, just dont visit that hut more than once! also is fixed at 1.2, which never posted.
zud is mayan?

On expert....there is no way to clear everything
Kaki40 and I are playing this map on advanced, and the gates will open in about 10 days i think....meanign that the relics dissappear in 9 days, and resources are set to zero everyturn in 9 days.....
Day 1, and day 2 are givens, but after that, i see several options:
1) got for dwellings ASAP
2) try to get banks to build generator in town
3) rush for linked town
4) get gold mines
5) get the boots of travelling by getting 5 oracles
6) etc etc
I wasted like 4 days trying to get the boots because final oracle was sooo far away. NOw I have boots, but i still have so much to clear. Undeground has been opened in our game due to variant.
My question is, is 30 days enough time to clear everything, or if not everything, to at least get the relics in time.
BTW, i was able to build 2 towns to level 4s.
