12 FAV Units u would like 2 see return
Personally my fav towns were (in order)
-Nercopolis, what can i say? They owned? Their ranged unit did good damage .. with a radius .. they had a staple troop (Vamps) who could fly and rez their troops .. a good tank troop who could do masssiveee damage (Dread Knights) and a good high troop who could fly and age
-Rampart for their many flying units, slow tank unit that halts ppl in their place for tha AMAZING ranged unit to own up
-Stronghold, for a good mix of units and all very durable and good abilities, with two ranged.
1-Vampire Lords: My god these guys owned tha whole game .. i always looked in small maps to get at LEAST Vampire Lords .. cuz these guys turned many a battle .. with a huge stack of this .. and a player STUPIDLY doesnt focus-targets this unit first to eliminate him .. he can keep rezzin his own men
2-Wood Elf's / Grand Elf's: My god i loved these guys .. one of tha best units ever .. and undoubtedly one of tha best ranged, they shoot twice when for their LVL already do good damage ranged .. which also means twice tha chance to get luck (double damage) and tha chance to get it twice ... which is good cuz rampart usually had good luck .. paired wid good morale .. and that equals 4 shots from tha Grand Elf
3-Dread Knights: I say only Dread Knights cuz they only have tha ability of doin tha "Death Blow" attack X 2 Damage .. and if u get luck wid that death blow .. an additional x 2 ... well...
5-Ghost Dragons: Overall, doesnt stand upto a Black Dragon at all, until they age them ... which HALVES HITPOINTS .. thats like doin a huge amount of damage .. just say u have 300 Black Dragons .. since (if ur smart)u would likely age tha most hit points .. so to Black Dragons thats like ... 90,000!! Imagine u had ONE Ghost Dragon tha guys like "O wow 25-50 damage ha ha!" then u MANAGE TO AGE HIM with that ONE DRAGON? Their hitpoints become 45,000 ... thats like DOING 45,000 damage .... that weakens tha Black Dragons for tha rest of tha army DRAMATICALLY ..
6-Lich's / Power Lich: Holy crap did i luv these ranged guys, not only did they do good ranged damage, but they also did it in a radius around em, so u could get a bunch of them
7-Giant's / Titan's: My lord these guys wreaked havoc .. what more can i say? Best ranged unit and didnt have penalty goin in for tha kill melee .. they are also tha only lvl 7 ranged unit ..
8-Cyclop's / Cyclops King: These guys also did massive ranged damage, and that is always good - killin sum1 b4 they get 2 u .. and i mean cmon! Who throws a boulder?! They also amazing for sieges - if u split tha stack into 3 or 2 u can have like 4 catapults helpin u out to let ur Behemoths and ur Ogres in to own up.
9-Cavaliers / Champions: For their strategic element, further they are, tha more damage they do - 15% damage bonus per hex upto a max of 45% more damage, which can add up ALOT, they also could take alot of punishment
10-Naga / NAga Queen: Amazing lvl 6 unit .. for tha ability for tha prey to not be able to retaliate and CONSTANT good damage which u can predict as it has a staple of 20 / 30 damage no 20-21 damage crap.
11-Hydra / Chaos Hydra: For It's ability to take out a whole army alone in one fell swoop ... it takes 11, it is after all tha only lvl 7 that can do it
12-Minotaur / Minotaur King: For their amazing reliability as they never have low morale, amazing defence rating for their lvl and better than average damage .. thumbs up in every category .. only if they could fly ..

black dragon
titan
AA
vampires/liches/skeletons and such
hydras
griffins
behemoths
minataurs
magi
phoenix
there are a few others but im restricted to 12

I've seen very, very few games with 300 Black Dragons in one stack, and all of them single player.
Wyverns
Dragon Flies
Basilisks
Hydras
Lizardmen
(gorgons and gnolls can go, because they don't fully fit into Fortress)
Wolf Riders

Hmm...Gnolls, Lizardmen, Dragonflies, Basilisks, Gorgons, and Wyverns...thats all that matters

well, in no particular order:
Monks/Zealots, that Hadoken just looks too cool 
Angels/ArchAngels, they're powerful, duh
Devils/ArchDevils, because the angels need a mortal enemy 
RedDragon/BlackDragon, a fantasy game without dragons is like a cigarete without tobbaco 
Skeleton/SkeletonWarrior, to give it that sinister feel
Wight/Wraith, what good fantasy doesnt have a ghost of some sort
Vampire/VampireLord, I just like vampires
Dwarves/BattleDwarves, we dont want to be racist/speciesest now do we
WoodElves/GrandElves, because they're elves
Behemoth/AincientBehemoth, they're just strong
Magi/ArchMagi, an old guy to set the olde fantasy mood
FirstAidTent, Because your health is important to us

The title of this topic is misleading; I understood that you want to discuss what units from the prequels people would like to see again. (Some of your favorites have already been confirmed for Heroes 5).
However, you actually want to talk about your favorite units...? Then perhaps you should have posted this in one of older threads.
By the way...

3.real devils not some cheap sklets like it was in h4
4.liches they must be back!!!

well these beloved creatures have not been seen yet, lets just hope some of them appear as neutrals

while all the green-skins are missing: goblins, orcs, trolls, ogres. also no thunderbird, cyclops and behemoth
strong indications that a stronghold town will be added in the expansion

1. Arch devils - cause they look so cool + no retaliation.
2. Angels - resurection...
3. Paladin/Crusader from Hmm2! - they were the best, weak highest level creature, but they could kick ass...
4. Ice demons - don't know why, but i liked those guys.
5. Zealots - and i wonder how the pc always managed to get so much of them that i barely could stop them.
6. Sharpshooter - almost forgot those crazy snipers.
7. Genie - Solmyr was the best.
8. Azure Dragons - yup, those are scary to face.
10. Phoenix - they way they looked in Hmm2 was awesome.
11. Magi - one of the best shooter units, could support the hero casting spells and punch through walls.
12. Slime - the shooter unit from necropolis (Hmm4), reminds me the movie "Dogma": "Ahh, snow DEMON!"
