Poll Question: How was the Music in H4
lets discuss the music in H4
i dont actually have H4, but i was talking about it with a friend and asked him/her how the music was.
my friend said it was okay, and i pretty much believed him/her, but later i was actually wondering what the music sounded like so i went on the internet and tried to look for some MIDI's (MIDI's aernt illegal ) but i couldnt find any
now almost every game i know with good music (mostly final fantasy's ) have several midi's of their best songs on the internet, but i couldnt find any on HOMM4.
is it because the music was bad?
is it not worth someones time?
was my friend lying to me and there wasnt any music at all?
is it just a coincidence that there are no midi's and the music actually rocked?
so what's your opinion on homm4 music?
what was ur favorite song?
what song just annoys the hell out of you?

there was 2 places that u could find great music. 1 was when u were listening to the campaign character talk and the other was when u where in the preserve. i loved the preserve music
all other music wasnt good but wasnt bad either. they were alright and didnt stand out

It was more experimental than the previous installments, but also markedly weaker, in my opinion. Lack of strong/fitting melodies, and I found the music got annoying after a while, something that never happened in HOMMII and only very slightly with HOMMIII.

I think h4 music is pretty good, much better than h3 music though not a match for h2.
adventure map themes are something special with bagpipes and saxaphone(?). town themes are ok, preserve and asylum got the best music and haven the worst.

The Asylum and Preserve are my favorites.
Haven was ok.
And the Death town had really unfitting music.

This is the same guy who will compose us for Heroes V and did that dince Heroes I, it's good to have someone who has the feeling of music soul over Heroes series. What I've noticed was that In Heroes II music wasn't bad, but it lacked the true instrumental performance, some of the melodies had the synthezer noticable, while in Heroes III it wasn't really that noticable, but it lacked opera, in heroes IV however it was done by an orchetra, so the music was more living, not done in computer.

I don't play H4 at all. But I use the combat themes from H4 in my Homm3 and WoG. To me, the combat themes of H4 are better than those in H3. Everything else, I like the H3 stuff. I would use the H4 for terrain, but there are no Ambient noises in the background, birds, water babbling and the like. Too bad too....
