Poll Question:
Heroes of Might OR Magic (poll)

This is an easy one.  How many of you prefer MIGHT heroes (you know the ones) to MAGIC heroes?!

My personal preference is MAGIC.  Two games illustrate this for me:

My first game on the net I was playing against Salamandre on All for One.  He was Sephinroth, it didn't matter what I was (and I can't remember!).  He attacked my castle -- he had a few dragons and a few angels...I had pack/lots of about everything (it was week three, so only 4 dragons...).  I had no spells to his level 5...I had no chance whatsoever

Much later one, while I was still a cadet, I played a Lieutenant in Desert War.  He was Crag Hack and I was Sephinroth.  He was a Lieutenant, and I was a cadet, so he jumped way out in front of me...I didn't even get outside my area.  His stats were something like A35 D35 P20 I20 when we finally met.  However, I had Sephniroth with Power about 16 and maybe 300 spell points.  The combination of Resurrect, Armegeddon, and Shackles gave me the victory (over his pack of Ancient Behemoths, etc.).

Mind you, winning like I did in
Well, let's get down to it...do you prefer MIGHT or MAGIC?!

It depends of what king of game style you are playing. If there is going to be a quick game then magic heroes are the best. Might heroes are better for later stages of the game cuz they get a considerable spell power and knownlegde. But it is good to have both of them.

I like good looking heroes....Adelaide is my fave..Cyra is not bad.... a couple of others. Hey have you also noticed that some heroes look like certain ppl? eg/ I reckon Oris the battle mage looks like Dr. Beverly Crusher from Star Trek (what a great show btw)...are there any others out there?

I love magic heroes  Always a big surprise to your oponent to come up with implosion or resurect.  But can be surprised too with recanters cloack or orb (Nasty artifacts ) And above all i like Power the most.

peace

Might AND Magic

I like heroes from Rampart because they are both Migth and magic. When they get to high levels they have great ratings. I also like castle heroes especialy Christian. So the answer is Might AND Magic.

MIGHT!

My preference is a well built Might hero that has most magics mastered... Magic heroes just dont give u that extra edge in battle... since spells for towns are random unless set otherwise u might not get ur intelligence hero with implosion or summon ele and he will most likely lose. Where as a might hero will probably have double the att and def than a magic because mages are wusses . Might hero with recanters is very strong and even without recanters its a little more reliable for the long run than the ever chaotic mage who might get waterwalk/slayer for level 4 and magic mirror for 5

I prefer might heroes, but in certain maps i play with 2 heroes, 1 might and 1 magic.

1) In the beginning of game, the magic hero with a lightning or ice bolt, and good power generally can take out a things which a might hero would not even dare touch.

2) 2 heroes can do more than 1 hero.

3)After you get certain no of XP its gonna be difficult to gain levels when you fight creatures .So i may as well spread them across 2 heroes.

4)My opponent if he is watching will have no idea who i will be using as main. If i have no idea how can he?

5)woe betide my opponent if i get armageddon. kamikaze is not considered hit and run right?

Sadly i rarely use this tactic but when i do, it causes massive consternation

I can't really decide I haven't played enough of heroes to say. Might ones are probably better though.

... this time it will be about HOMM4...
here goes...

PALADIN...which is a Mighty hero able to Magically cast blessing spells on himself/herself... a paladin can fight all alone!!!

It is the matter of town. With fortress it would be unwise not to take advantage of Tazar, or with stronghold take battle mage instead of Crag, but with towns like Inferno it is better to take magic hero (I choose Zydar in this case. Dungeon is the balanced type of town. Might and magic are equal.
