Poll Question: Move "This or That"
OK, for the fact this is a forum for all members, i would like the members to decide, if we should move the thread "This or That" from the library to the Volcanic Wastelands.
If u would write down the reason for your decision, it would be even more helpfull.
Thanks for participating

I haven't posted in that thread for a long time, having lost interest several months ago. I created a non-Heroes-related "This or That" thread in VW just for fun, but that dried up in less than a month. So now I guess I don't really care about what happens to it.

The damn thread is dead anyways now.Revive it and see how many serious questions&answers you get in a week and how much spam. Then make the decision yourself regarding where it belongs

I bet my vote is no surprise here
I say move the spam to its homeland! lol
I think that the thread could have merit if every answer has to be given with a reason why.
When I say reason why, i don't mean "because they're cool" I mean a specific reason that pertain to the game, something that could either
a) educate someone
b) spark a debate that could educate someone
The way it is now, there is no reason why it shouldnt be treated as an wordgame in the VW - this is heroes community, no reason not to have the heroes wordgame where it belongs.
If the decision is made that it shouldn't be moved or it's format changed- at least consider applying standard VW rules to it: which are that once the thread reaches 500 replies it should be locked, and then deleted after 7 days.

I voted "Don't move it!", but more for sentimental values than anything else.
It was fun, interesting, and slightly educational. I enjoyed it because I got to learn a few things without all of the mathematical jargon that we sometimes see in other Strategy Threads. I also liked it because it was REALLY POPULAR, while the rest of the Library was quiet.
In addition, it was a fun way for new people to get to know some of the veterans because:
a- You didn't always have to write a serious or "correct" answer. Meaning that there was very little chance of getting flamed.
b- You could ask almost any question (general, specific, or even silly).
c- It was so popular, that even a "lurker" could get drawn in.
Sure when you compare the knowledge contained in This or That to some of the other Strategy Threads in the Library, you could easily justify deleting it (i.e. The advice is somewhere else, some answers are more detailed in other Threads, or entire discussions regarding "a certain issue" have already taken place many times). But, I find that the beauty of This or That was not "what" it contained, but "how" it was delivered.
There aren't many Threads in the Library (as far as I know) that are as OPEN and WELCOMING as This or That used to be. I think that it should stay because it shows that new players and vets can get along just fine and that they can even have some fun together, while educating a few people on how to play HoMM3 along the way.
It can serve as a "shinning example of fraternity" that is sorely needed in the Library and across all of Heroes Community!

So what you're saying is that it was fun spam?
It may have been fun while it was active, to those who were active in it at the time - but it's not re-read material IMO. I know, I tried to re-read it...
If you named the thread post-count elevator, I'm sure that there could be funny stuff in it, and I'm sure it could be inviting to new people to join in - but that's what the Wastelands is for, not the Library.
I mean, if you started a strong political debate that held many different people's interest - I'm sure it could do very well in the Library as well. But that's an Otherside thread.
My point isn't "Oooooh I hate that This or That thread!" its that in HC everything has a proper place, and everything should be in its proper place - and SPAM's place? In the Wastelands
