HoM&M + Nintendo DS = Portable Bliss
I know most people wont see it. I know many will flame it. But if done to the fullest of a developer's ability, a HoM&M version on the DS would be amazing.
The touch screen could serve as a touch pad to control a cursor on the top-screen (just like a mouse does for the PC), and it would be very close to the PC version. All I would need is a simple port of Heroes 3 to the DS.. and I'd be set.
anyone?

Well, Heroes 2 has been ported to Gameboy Color, so why the hell not? I say it'd be a great thing to do on a long long trip on the train. For DS owners that is

Neat.
Yah it's a good idea, but the entire game would have to take place on the touch screen, but that would leave the top screen open to being the mini map.

Minimap or stuff like Kingdom Statistics (number of towns, number of mines of each type, daily income, that thingy).
Question is, would there be a WOG for the DS version?

Was heroes on the GBC any good? I saw it at Gamestop used the other week and was tempted to buy it.

i played homm2 on gameboy color, the graphics were kinda confusing, but still it was worth to give it a try. i'd say it'll be nice to see homm3 on DS.

My GBC copy was bugged. I encountered a messed up screen (unviewable) whenever there were Devils to fight. Another thing, they would be in a stack of the max number. All of the enemies other creatures would be in normal quantities, but for some misc reason i think it was impossible to win that blind fight.. I think the devils respawned aswell... anyways..
A: Touch screen Homm is possible.
B: The biggest feat to tackle would be the game capacity. I would want to reach that limit. GBC's, if I remember correctly, had only one campaign for both homm1 and 2. In a new released portable Homm, they need More senarios, a more complex and long term durational opportunity for advancement, and, a spacious gaming enviroment, while still easy to navigate.

Keep in mind that the tiny DS game-pak holds 4 times the memory of the N64 cartridge. So I'm sure they'd be able to fit a whole lot of stuff in that little card.
Heroes 3 on the DS would be sweet.

Like I said in a similar topic, HOMM is not for handhelds and hendheld emulators.

HOMM can work perfectly on a DS. Have you never touched a DS before?
It has Touch-screen functionality.. which can be similar to a mouse. Play a DS, then tell me it wouldn't work.

But what about for trips down the road? What if ur NOT at home. You know, other people do have a life and LEAVE THEIR HOUSE for once.
What about the PSP though? Would it work on the PSP?

On PSP, it'd be more like GBC HoMM than PC HoMM. DS works better.

Could work on DS only because of the touch screen. But it wouldn't be good, and it won't happen. Sorry, there's just no chance.
But I don't mind, I have my own portable bliss=
Japanese PSP (version 1.00) + Untold Legends + Dynasty Warriors + NES emulator + SNES emulator + Donkey Kong + Super Mario + Megaman = all you need on a handheld

I wouldn't be so sure.
I bet 3 years down the line Ubisoft will decide the HoMM series has some juice in it for portable systems.
