Drawings from the Members
So.... I like to draw.... I'm sure there are those of you who like to draw also.... if so.... how about we all share what we draw here?
this is my dragon Marcus... he was a triplet, meaning he was in his egg with two other dragons: Lennox & Ruby (ruby was stolen from me... )

i love painting in oil... but oil is the most expensive.... but the smelll is so worth it... linseed oil smells like art.... makes me feel like painting... acrylic is fun too.. but it dries a lot faster and the colors are a little bit different....so you have a very different teqnique when using them... I like the detail you can get with oil... but am impatient and hate waiting for each layer to dry... i used to paint a lot more than i do now.... i love pen and ink though... and it's a lot cheaper... watercolour is fun... and so is colored penicil.... but iff youre ggoing for bigscale drawings.... it takes almost as long and doing an oil painting.... Ive also recently got into computer art.... painting in photoshop and stuff like that.... here is a self protrait i did on photoshop a few days ago. mind you, ive never been tought anything about photoshop, i just tought myself so be kind:
here is the photo it came from:

Romana and Jaeme i must say I am very impressed.
My stick figures couldn't hold a candle to either of your pics.
Jaeme, i was wondering, your dragons look slightly feminine, with the eyes. They remind me of the fairie dragons in HOMM3. Would it be possible to draw a more evil looking dragon?
And I like your style of turning humans into elves..

Great artwork, girls!
Sadly, I don't do paintings and pin-ups. I am mostly into comics (so far published in several local magazines only).
I'm afraid I don't have quality scans at the moment, so I'll try to find some links...
This is the "splash" page from my story called "Daydreaming". The text goes on like this:
When I dream I ride horses
when I'm awake I ride a bicycle
and whip it when I daydream
Aside from "arty-farty" stuff I like realistic comics, (if you can call a ship on the ground "realistic" ):

Sadly, I have them in print only (no, wait, that's good LOL ).
Yes, it's the classic pencil + ink comic book approach. It doesn't take that long - it's usually one day for the layout, plus another one to ink the details. Several hours total.
I've found an old drawing of mine (1998?), but that's the only scan I have on my HD right now. It's sort of on topic, too (fantasy theme etc)!

I absolutely love the girl on the snail!
That is just beautifull
Why didn't you give her a face though? And do you also draw from real life? Have you ever tried paint? (not the programm )

thats really cool... so is the ship one... how long have you been drawing? and making comics? I love to draw in pen and ink, i love comic book style more that anything else... i have hundreds of drawings and ideas for comics... i just don't have much time at the moment to work on them... i also want to start a few books: one of childrens peotry and one of more adult fantasy poetry
And then there are a few stories.... a lot of my pen and ink are actually charactors for some of the books im writing. I wish we could read your comics. You are an inspiration for me to get my a** off the couch and get to work! Anyway.

Thats really pretty... i love the colors you used. i have heard of Gimp... my husband showed it to me... but i think im stuck with photoshop.... its the only thing ive had time to learn yet.... but gimp looked fun, and it's free... so i should keep it on my mind... I can't wait to see more of your artwork!

Ah, my dragons. They are a part of a series of books im working on... they aren't the fiercesome ones that most people think they would be. They are just another type of species of intelegent life in this world im creating... there will be bad one's also. So far they are all still babies, well... most of them... I think there are already too many evil dragons in the world... and not enough sweet pretty ones!.. hehe... sorry... im just like cutness i suppose. And just because they look cute and feminine does not mean they couldn't tear a black dragon apart... well... maybe not a black dragon, or maybe a few of them t one blacky.... but i bet one could hold their own! I love to think that all humans are are de-evolutionized elves.... even though that is unrealistic... considering that humans are nothing like elves of most lore.... its just fun to draw someone and give them that elfish edge.... to see how it might be?.. you know? Most oof the time I'm not even living here with everyone... I'm gone somewhere ... and my drawing are what come back with me... if that makes any since...

Thank you, ladies!
Quote: thats really cool... so is the ship one... how long have you been drawing? and making comics?
How long... ummm... twenty years? Seriously though, I started when I was 8, and I am 28 now so...
I must have done 150-200 pages, but published only 30... fortunately, because most of that stuff sucks big time.
These days I'm into underground stories (Fantagraphics books, anyone? ) - my new comics feature dark stylizied art and a bit of symbolism and melodrama.
(Blah blah... I must do some scans! )
Quote: i also want to start a few books: one of childrens peotry and one of more adult fantasy poetry
Yeah, I thought you would. The sample art looks cute. What I really like about comics is that you can tell a story; I suppose you can express yourself with poems and drawings even better. By the way, what are your favorite poets?
Quote: I wish we could read your comics.
Be careful for what you wish for...

---- WHAT? As artists we are too selfcritical when we don't need to be and too egotistical when we shouldnt be!

I live in Serbia.
Actually, comics were a promising industry here before the civil war. Nowadays there is a scattering of foreign comics on the stands. The best local artists are published abroad (US, France, Italy), but all I got were "polite rejection letters". I'll keep trying, though. Oh, I've released a mag 5 years ago and had my work printed elsewhere, but actually lost more money than I earned. Sadly, I am not interested in drawing pin-ups, posters etc. Like I told you, I like to tell stories. Besides, I have a regular job (I'm an English teacher), so I get to choose what I wanna do. On the other hand, if I didn't have a career, perhaps I'd become a better artist and eventually make it in the business...
How are you doing in the States?
