Mark Your Territory: Season II
The Premise:
The object of the game is to gain control over the threads that you feel the most attached to. Simply put if Pandora was playing, she would want to control Tavern/Feedback, just as Conan would want to control Other Side Feedback. So the threads that everyone feels strongly attached to won't want anyone else to own a thread.
Basically owning the thread will give you bragging rights and an ego boost for being the King of your own turf.
How do you win?
The Season will last 30 Rounds. There will be three criteria that will determine who wins the game.
1.) Owning a lot of threads
2.) Owning the most contested threads
3.) Winning tournaments.
At the end of the game, the top two players will face off in a final showdown.
The Basic Rules:
1.) The Round Schedule works as follows.
a.) Claiming Phase - Claim threads or make challenges.
b.) Submission Phase - Contests will be posted and here's when you submit your entries.
c.) Voting Phase - Once all entries are in we let the public vote for the best entries. Most votes wins.
2.) Each Round you get to claim or challenge once.
3.) If any contest results in a tie the thread is successfully defended.
4.) At the end of every 5th round there will be forum tournaments. The application fee will be one thread.
5.) At the end of every 10th Round and after the forum tournaments, there will be a Grand Slam Tournament. This tournament will encompass all forums of HC. Entry fee will be one FP from any forum.
What are FPs and how do you get them?
FPs stand for Forum Points. Any FPs that you get can only be used in specific forums. This means that you might have 2 points in Tavern and 5 points in Glade. The ways in which you spend points will be targetting specific threads. You may only use your FPs on threads of the respective forum to your FPs.
Here are some ways that you can use your FPs
10 FPs - Lock possession of a thread you have owned.
5 FPs - Steal a thread without having to challenge that person.
3 FPs - Challenge for a thread that has been locked. If the thread is won, the thread will become unlocked.
2 FPs - Get an FP in the forum of your choice.
1 FPs - Claim an extra thread in a round.
1 FP - Make an extra challenge in a round.
1 FP - Apply to the Grand Slam Tournament.
1 FP - Request a different challenge against the wishes of your opponents.
Ranking System:
1.) Whenever you win an FP, you will get 10 points.
2.) Owning a thread at the end of the game will get you X number of points based on how much that thread is worth.
2a.) Each thread starts out at 4 points. Whenever any player challenges for that thread, the thread increases in worth by 1 point. So this means that if 3 people challenge for Tell the Truth in one round, it goes up by 3 points in worth that round.
3.) Stealing a thread gains you points equal to 1/5 the thread value rounded up. Successfully defending your thread will give you 1/10 of the thread value rounded up.

If anyone has any questions or comments on the new FPs and points system that I have made up for the game, please feel free to comment. My intentions have been to encourage people to take part in tournaments and to give this game a bit more of a purpose so that we will be able to declare a winner.

Imagine that there is a giant council with representatives from all across the galaxy. This council is similar to that of the United Nations. Every year 50 years there is a large discussion as to whether or not new races and worlds will be added to the council.
The humans have just discoved how to travel at the speed of light and within only a decade they will be predicted to be able to travel 10 times the speed of light and will be capable of travelling across the galaxy and meeting new civilizations.

Ok this is everyone's last reminder to do this tournament. There isn't an easier way to get FPs, especially if no one else submits an entry.
Remember that receiving an FP will permanently give you 10 points toward your overall rank, as well as enabling you to gain control over the game by claiming extra threads, making additional challenges and even locking threads so that you cannot be challenged.
