Hello. We are nice to meet you and you are welcome on HC. You asked two questions:
1) Help with the Map Editor
The H5 Map Editor is, as Nival stated, the internal tool used by them to create the campaigns/scenarios maps that come with the game. Therefore, it should be the perfect map making tool, but sadly it has some flaws.
If you want to get help with your Map Editor, there are a few places where you may go.
-On your computer
In the game directory, there is an Editor Documentation.
-On HC
Heroes 5 Map Editor Help and Tips...
Enhanced Random Map Generator
2)I guess the problem is with the game version. A new patch for TotE was released recently (raising the game version to 3.1.). Now, you either have still the 3.0. version and you have downloaded mods created for 3.1., or vice-versa. Anyway, I hope these links help:
-Update NCF to version 3.1.
-Updated NCF thread

Thanks for your informative reply Zamfir, I'll make sure that I'm updated to 3.1 and I'll try the NCF mods for that version.
It's good to know about the access to discounted nachos, domestics, and location of the restrooms. Thanks OmegaDestroyer.

Hello all,
I'm a young girl from europe, and I found this forum by searching for the soundtracks of homm 4 XD
My first homm exp was heroes 2  but my fav is homm3 and homm4, I not really like homm5.
Sorry for my poor english, I'm not a native speaker.

Hello everybody, another newbie comes to join your community.
I'm a French player coming from another community (heroes-fr), but unfortunately, this community is quite inactive atm. I discovered yours via a thread giving a link to the tournament (Random Tactical Arena) that Zilonite organizes.
About the game, I would say that I'm not that new to the game, but I still have got many things to learn and I hope joining you will help
I mostly play the Dungeon because I like things to happen quickly - fast units + wicked spells. Otherwise, I also like to play the Necropolis or the Sylvans (rarely because I find them imbalanced).
My main problem is that I take many unconsiderate risks during the game, or on the contrary I don't dare to. I also tend too much to have a predefine/stereotypical build before the game starts, according to the matchup, and I have hard time adaptating to the circumstances of the game I'm playing. For example, I underrate too often the utility of Summoning magic...
Well, atm I don't know what I could add to introduce myself ; I guess most of you will discover the rest during the games anyway.

Another newb comes around
Hello everybody! I'm Theon (7h30n). I'm from Croatia and I haven't drank for 2 weeks ...
Oops, this is not alchoholic's session
So to put the joking aside, I came here coz I need help with HoMMV.
Long story short, I'm terrible player (past experiences with TBS: HoMM3, AoW 2 and Disciples 2) ... I can't beat AI in HoMMV and I have trouble killing neutrals.

Hey! HC is still alive (I hope) and God Ive been playing heroes 3 for ages and only found out about this some day ago looking for help with tcp/ip issues. Very glad this place existed, and I feel some sort of pride to see how many ppl enjoy/adore/would kill for heroes 3 and others. Nice!
Learnt so much in a few visits! Crypts in week 1, archery thing, hehe keep em coming! Glad to be one in the crowd now, and who knows, one day one of you would like to challenge (crush) me in a heroes game? Joined the hamachi network btw.

Yes, the best teacher is online play. In fact, singleplayer and multiplayer games are really different dimensions.
You will see that most useful info comes from online players. Play online, read strategy threads and you'll become a good player very fast.
If you want a match, I'm your man anytime.
