Do you mean a Commander or do you mean replacing the "hero on horse" picture on the side of the battle?
The latter isn't really possible (yet) and Commanders can't be 2-hex creatures (Slava told us), but anyway, I would prefer to see this as a regular creature.

I meant hero on horse  I just wonder how could looks that spider with army on adventure map

Slava cannot add additional heroes on adventure map, right? But it is possible to overwrite the existing ones (for example, change overlords to spider queens)? I remember Bruno simply replaced Heroes 3 graphics with those from Warcraft 2 (for his old mod).
I agree it would be better as a creature, though.

Yes, as far as I know, there's no reason that you couldn't replace any Heroes graphic if you have the correct format, number of frames, etc. and know how to pack it correctly.

about the other units, Spider Queen is one of them,
i just started its animation .
here's the Night Archer by Dru,
the walking part is missing .
there is also this, the necromancer from M&M,
it can be resized and animated. it'd be a good piece for the patch, but i'm not sure if it is going to make it.
so far so good?
i was thinking to make a full patch that would include all units, and later on send the DEF files of each unit to BigJocker's yahoo group. this way people could get them separetly. if it is ok with BigJocker.

Photo bucket alouds only pictures to 250kb size..if picture is bigger it resizes it.

This sounds great. I believe we'll have to wait for Forge and Bastion for several more months, until the graphics and testing is done. (Ziel, should we expect a Christmas present? ). In addition, I'm afraid it'll take a year before we get to play 3.59. So it would be really cool if the Dark Elves patch was released in the meantime.

Well, yes... In Age of Wonders she has "magic bolts", while in books she is a spellcaster. Actually, I am worried about the additional shooting animation. Is it too much work...? I ask because she could have another kind of attack - "magic strike" (again, it's taken from Age of Wonders, and works like Thunderbird's lightning. Is this option hard-coded, though?

If people will work so "fast" as now then it will be on christmas.... but if htey can do they work a bit faster than it will be done in 1 - 2 months ^^ (if it will changing conflux... if forge have to be a new castle it will take "bit" more time why? beacause now I dont know anything about it (maybe I can add some units but it's time-eating )(Acid, I think that is a trick to do that, much simplier that this what your'e saying )

This ideea of yours,Vlaad,about Dark Ekves,i think its pretty food.but you showed us screenshots fro WBC3,i have the too,and i don;t thing that we'll have Dark Elves or Night Elves in Heroes V.

Wow they all look awesome, but if you want the Spider Queen to suit the rest of the army it might look better if her skin is purple? Something like this:
