Conan, just out of curiosity, what exactly is your problem? The site automatically replaces every "foul word" with ****.

I know, and it's against the CoC to not censor them yourself.
I don't make the rules here, I enforce them.

If someone quotes your post, the automatic censor doesn´t work, so he / she could read it. That won´t happen if u censor it by yourself...

Hi Russ, I think you've promissed me you'll behave well shortly, remeber? Why do you consider necessary to use ugly words without even being mad at somebody? I understand if you have to swear off some nasty feeling, but just for fun???
Dura lex, sed lex...
So, conclusion is random maps kinda lead to random result, right?

It adds color to my speech ;-)
Btw, just out of curiosity, since s**t exists (I sense a -qp here already). What word should I use to depict this? Or half-censored word is ok?

You don't have to depict that word (edit: thing, not word), Russ, is not about Heroes. I reckon you posted some very useful information on HC, but you should cut out the "colour" from your language. I don't think anybody's impressed with it (not even girls around here ).
Remember, showing respect to others brings the respect back to you.

Alright that's all fine and dandy....
Now how about some more posts giving your first week input... This thread could be used as a helpful "Beginning Game" tool provided we get some strategy talk going...

Gaby, few points: I don't think you should speak for other people since most likely you have no clue about what they think. Also, I don't think your "righteousness" is very impressive either. My last question wasn't directed at you since you are not a mod here (even though you feel very important). And, FYI: the last thing I want to do is to impress you. There. Are we done now?

Personally, when referring to chaining, I like to always have a hero that hangs around homebase... meaning he will deliver creatures to the others whenever needed and also he may possess a small seige army incase of unexpected attack (you should always know when you're being attacked, but sometimes an opponent can DD, fly, etc. unexpectedly). Also, this hero is handy for teaching spells around as soon as you get new spells in the guild and visiting surrounding external dwellings, water wheels, windmills, etc. on every day one.
It is good to have scholar and logistics with this hero for obvious reasons.
It's always handy to have extra heroes as long as they serve an important purpose, however, as Angelito said, you need to find out how rich your map is so you may decide how many heroes you are going to have running around...

Yes, Rage08, I use a hero for similar purposes, plus the other ones carrying troops for main and hosting them till the next day for movement economy (to main hero).
We spoke above about random maps, well, I played Jebus the other day and was placed in a narrow area having like 3 Learning stones, 3 Schools of Magic, 3 Seer Huts, 2 Witch Huts, 1 Scholar, 9-10 Shrines of Magic (all Lvl1's but 1 Lvl3), 3 Crypts, 2 Imp Caches, 1 Medusa Store, 1 Dwarven Treasury, 2 Naga Banks, and all the Mines ok. Oh, yeah, and the Tome of Air behind Pack of Chaos Hydras just above the Castle. But no sign of buildings for A+D, Library (of any kind) or Utopia. Ok, they were probably somewhere else, but only after a loong detour around a Mountain. Knowing the map is rich (Maretti was very kind and provided me with all info I needed), I bought 7 heroes day 1, lucky to hire Tazar among them. But the problem was that, after I picked up all the gold from piles and the few chests (2 or 3), a Crypt and a Water wheel, took the Gold mine day 3, was waay short of money for Angels day 7. Even if Tazar had been successful in taking the full Imp Cache (well, he was not) I would have resigned right away. Just out of curiosity, took a look at Maretti's side and... No comment. :-) (Just a hint: day 5 he bought the Angel and still had about 7 gold piles and a few chests scatered nicely around his Castle - plus about 5000 gold into the pocket. And yes, he bought only 6 heroes.)
Tough luck, but I won't give up just yet. (Hopefully getting some more Shrines of Magic in the future)
